In the days slightly after the horse and wagon and slightly before superhighwaysand#44; if you wanted something big and heavy movedand#44; you used Fords ruggedand#44; reliableand#44; and versatile Model T. This exceptional 1925 Model T roadster pickup offers a spectacular restoration the likes of which you just dont see all that often. If you want a super nice Model T thats ready to enjoyand#44; this is a fantastic choice. If youre a truck collectorand#44; and I know there are plenty of you out thereand#44; you need a T in your collection. With a bright color schemeand#44; its not quite the way Henry built it back in 1925and#44; but the bright yellow finish is exceptionally well done and shows very little use since it was finished. The traditional black fenders look rightand#44; offering a bit of contrast that adds to the rugged look. The familiar grille plus the upright cab all date the truck and make it the most identifiable hauler of all timeand#44; and given the values of Model Tsand#44; its shocking to see one this well restored. The bed is freshly finished with lovely oak planks and matching stake sidesand#44; and its just as sturdy and ready to work as it was nearly a century ago. Kind of cool to think that commercial vehicles also were things of beautyand#44; isnt it? Theres no chromeand#44; of courseand#44; but the functional side-mounted tire adds some style and its got two taillights out back for safety. The interior is surprisingly classy for a blue-collar haulerand#44; with pleated seat cushions and a nicely finished dashboard. The same Model T controls that you got on the passenger cars were used hereand#44; tooand#44; including a hand throttleand#44; and a set of foot pedals for the 2-speed planetary transmission. Its easy to operate once you see how it works and if youve got the timeand#44; the dependable Model T will get you anywhere you need to go as long as theres gas in the under-seat tank. A hard maple steering wheel is big and beefy and offers plenty of leverage for the steeringand#44; even fully loaded. Instrumentation includes an ammeter that monitors the generators output and the ignition switchand#44; plus an accessory Stewart speedometer. A rubber mat dresses it up a bitand#44; as does the black canvas convertible topand#44; which is beautifully fitted. The engine is the same 4-cylinder 20-horsepower powerplant that was under the hood of every Model Tand#44; but with clever gearingand#44; it moves the truck easilyand#44; loaded or empty. Speed isnt the pointand#44; reliability isand#44; and this ancient machine will still out-last just about anything made today on the job site. Its rebuilt and runs great thanks to a few upgradesand#44; including a distributor for the ignition system and all new wiring. The updraft carburetor hangs under the cast iron exhaust manifold and it fires with a familiar sound that forms the background soundtrack for every old movie ever made. The basic chassis is in great shapeand#44; and wears bright red paintand#44; a nice contrast to the red bodyworkand#44; and while its not totally authenticand#44; nobody will argue with how it looks. Restored wire wheels with bright orange paint sport recent 21-inch blackwall tires for a proper look. A wonderful vintage truck that always attracts a lot of attention and will be a lot of fun for parades and shows. Call today! |
