Back in the early 60sand#44; when he was only 21 years oldand#44; Bob Everts decided he needed to leave his home in Connecticut and go to California to make his fortuneand#44; so he packed up his 32 Ford three-window and drove on out. Little did he know that the path he chose back then would lead him to a room full of Deuces later in life.

An avid builder and collectorand#44; in the 80s Bob was at Hershey and purchased a set of wire wheels. Not sure what they were he put them away for future use. About 30 years later he pulled them out and took a good look. The wheels were a rare set of original Firestone wheels from the 1930s. The idea took hold to build a car around the rare wheelsand#44; and the Firestone Roadster was born.

Bob brought the wheelsand#44; and everything else to build a period 32 Ford hot rod to the legendary shop of Roy Brizio Street Rods in South San Franciscoand#44; CA and work began. Using the period Edelbrock Bonneville Roadster as a basis for the designand#44; the Firestone Roadster is very much a period hot rod. It is powered by a 59AB Flathead Ford with 4 inch crank driving a 39 transmission with rare Columbia overdrive.

The interior was done by Sid Chaversand#44; and Bob built the soft top himself. The entire car is constructed from original steel Ford parts including the frameand#44; grilland#44; firewalland#44; fuel tankand#44; and hood. The only departure from original was the use of a Brookville steel body. After its completion Bob took the car a drove it for 1500 miles to sort out the build and to enjoy the car as it was designed. He sold the Firestone Roadster to a collector and it has been cared for as a collectable ever since.
