Built, Completed and Delivered on January 31, 1940. This is one of about 20 Lincolns carried over from 1939 and titled as a 1940, one of two 1940s known to still exisit. This Lincoln is one of the very last or possibly The very last Judkins Coach Built automobile built in the companys rich history and the Custom Coach Body Era.

Only 133 Lincoln K Models were produced for 1939, the last year of production.

This Rare and Very Original Judkins built 2-window Berline is one of only two 417-A bodies that were produced for the 1939 Lincoln Model K production year. She was the 20th vehicle from the end of the

1939 Model K production run and 3 digits before President Franklin Roosevelts Sunshine
Special. This rare particular car is one of about a dozen finished, sold and titled as 1940
models and is one of only two 1940 models know to still exist. A very rare car indeed!

This particular car is also believed to possibly be the very last custom coach automobile built
by the famous John B. Judkins company, who began building carriages in Amesbury, Massachusetts
in 1857.

She was delivered to her new customer in St.Louis on Jan 31, 1940. It is rumored that she
may have been originally owned by August A. Busch Sr. Other prominent families such as the
Catlins and the Mallinckrodts also purchased coach built luxury cars in St. Louis at the time.
Someone living near St. Louis now, may be able to research the information to comfirm the
original owner.

With only32,831 actual miles showing on her odometer, shehas all of her original interior with the exception of the front bench seats bottom fabric. She has all of her original mechanical equipment with the exceptions of her 6 volt electricalsystem, which has been upgraded to a 12 volt system, an electric fan and an added watertemperature gauge that has been inconspicuously mounted below the drivers side dash. Couldeasily be changed back. Her exterior is original with the exception of one 36 year old repaint, done in 1980 using a correct blackLacquer which still has its amazing shine. The heart of this Lincoln is her original, 414 cu. in., V-12 cylinder power plant. She runs and drives amazingly smooth, strait and sound.
