This 1946 caddy convertible just recently went through extensive restoration that includes paint and body by a professional auto body shop in Orange County, CA, rechromed all exterior moldings, front and rear bumpers, grills, emblems, interior moldings, dash grille and gauge bezels, window cranks, etc. There were 100 + pieces to chrome and chroming was triple plated. Those who know how expensive chroming is, $9500 was spent and have receipts to prove. The motor way pulled out during the restoration to clean up with all new gaskets, spark plugs, new belts, rebuild generator and starter, electronic fuel primer pump added and rebuild mehanical fuel pump. The carburetor was rebuilt two years ago by previous owner, after I acquired the car, who meticulously owned the car originally and drove it only to local shows and parades. The car is rust free, starts right up, and drives like a Cadillac. The hydromatic transmission shifts very smooth. The 346 CI flathead motor was painted with the OEM epoxy green paint during the restoration. I have the orginal 40 spoke Kelsey Hayes wheels that will go with the car. The new wheels are 52 stainless spokes (not chromed) made in the USA with brand new coker wide white walls. The car is still 6 volt but it is has an 8 volt new battery to give it more juice for start up. The regulator is adjusted for the 8 volt charging. The quarter windows are factory manual. I did buy all new hydraulic cylinders for the windows, top and seat, but it would be wise to go all electric since the fluid specified is brake or ATF, and if there are any leaks in the future it will get messy. I have an elctrician that will convert the car to 12 volts with electric windows and top for $6k additional to the selling price that I can get the work done prior to delivery to the new buyer.
