Presented here is a restored and then driven 1946 Ford Super Deluxe 8 Convertible. 1948 was the final year for the old-style Ford and an all-new model launched partway through the year. With only about 16,000 produced and sold new for $1,100 - $1,900 depending on options, this first year of production model after the way is normally hard to find in good condition and is becoming a truly collectable Ford. This 1946 is powered by a 239ci Flathead V8 engine producing a stout 100 horsepower which was backed up by a 3 speed manual shifted on the column transmission. Under the hood you will see there are all new spark plugs, spark plug wires, new hoses as well as a new fuel pump and reconditioned and freshly painted black radiator. This Convertible is shown in a classy dark maroon color accented by the light tan convertible top and smooth chrome trim down the sides. The paint shows minor wear and is believed to have only 7843 miles on the restoration. Some exterior features on this 46 include front running lights, rear reverse light, deluxe bumperettes on the front and rear, bumper guards, dual exhaust system as well as an added driverandrsquo;s side mirror. The interior of the Ford is featured in an elegant dark camel color with a simulated woodgrain and red inlay dashboard, a split front bench seat, under dash heater, power convertible top, Am radio, added turn signals, as well as a deluxe passenger side in dash clock. This post war era convertible rolls smoothly down the street on color matched maroon 16 inch steel wheels that have been hand triple striped in silver and wrapped in 3 inch wide white wall tires by Lester. Push the button and put the top down while cruising with your love and family while enjoying the smooth and comfortable ride in this stylish and graceful 46 Ford!
