Details: 1947 Chevrolet Fleetline Aero Sedan This highly modified 1947 Chevrolet Fleetline is one cool custom and has a ton of cool features. The car is truly a old school street rod because it has been on the road since 1978. It was first started in 1975 at various shops throughout California and by 1985 most of the body modifications you see today were in place. It has since been redone a few times, most recently in 2004/ At that time it was fully disassembled and stripped down to bare metal. The car has an extremely cool look and stands out wherever it goes. It really has that California vibe and is a true California custom. We will try to give you as much details as possible but this thing has so much going on we are sure something will get left out. The B pillars have been radiused and as well as the doors and trunk. That work along with the removal of the drip rail was done by Gene Winfield who is up there with George Barris when it comes to customizing cars. GandR Kustoms in Marysville, California did the hood scoops, sunken atenna, the molded/extended rear fenders and the 51 Mercury hood peak. The hood has also been louvered and has custom hood scoops. The cowl vent has been filled. In the back the car has custom frenched 1960 Chevrolet Pickup LED tail lights and up front the headlights are molded in. The license plate is also frenched and it has a custom rolled rear pan. The car has had 4 paint jobs throughout its life and the current one was completed in Sparks, Nevada. The Blue is stunning and really pops out in the sun. The flames were laid down by Eric Collins of Final Finish and he also stripped the car of the old paint. The flames along with the pinstriping are under 5 coats of high solid clear. The V butte windshield is new and all of glass is in great shape. The car is shaved of any door handles so the doors are remotely operated. The bumpers are extremely cool and constructed out of exhaust pipes. It has a great stance with a slight rake and rides around on chrome US Wheels with Baby moons. The Diamond Back White wall tires look perfect on the car and were installed in 2013. Under the hood is a 1967 327 V8 Corvette motor with Bowtie heads and 10:1 compression. Check out the table below to get a compete break down of the motor. The car has 31,350 miles on it since the last rebuild which included the drivetrain. Paired with the engine is a Turbo 350 automatic transmission with 2400 stall torque converter and BandM shift kit. The front clip is out of a 1972 Nova and incorporates power disc brakes. All of the suspension components are from a 72 Nova as well as the chassis and rear differential with 2.78 gears. The front spindles have been dropped 2 inches but the stock spindles also come with the car. The car has air shocks in the back and custom made shock mounts. The electrical system is functioning properly and utilizes a 18 circuit Haywire kit. The fuel tank holds 26 gallons and is stainless steel vented. It is filled through a 75 Camaro gas door on the rear fender. It gets about 24MPG on the highway and is a great driver. It was built to be driven and is a turn key car you can take anywhere.
