Details: 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air 2/door Hardtop This 1950s car was chopped 3inches back in 52, it has French head- lights, shaved door handles Nosed and Decked where a 1953 grille is molded. All this work was done between 52-54; A year later (1955) the car had a small fender bender-it was impounded due to no insurance. The car was then purchased by a collector in mid Oklahoma .,there is sat in the field. In 1976 there was photos captured by a photographer for Rod N Custom on his way to the Street Rod Nationals, and he spied this vehicle in the field! later this car turns up in an article of Rodders Journal lost and Found story! (issue #64 20th anniversary ). (1985) Many years later it turns-up at Chickasha Swap meet and was purchased by a local customizer who then stored the car in a barn for a later project. The car sat until the mid 1990s until a neighbor began to start restoration on the vehicle at a local college,where he had access to a full shop equipment .This car was striped to bare metal , all bottom was sandblasted and put in urethane primer.,the grille and hood where then replaced, then updated with a later model subframe, 4in Belltech lowering kit with disc brakes, all new front-end parts, 55 Chevy rear-end w/ Poiessprings, new K member set up for small block Chevy and Auto trans. Body work was started and sealed in color primer with clear added, the roof is in gold flake and cleared . Car has original 3/piece glass, all window frames are in good shape (chopped), only needing new glass due to bullet holes.I have all stainless trim, less one rocker molding,and one drivers garnish molding.Car has all dash components, It is only missing original seats. The car has very little rust, see photos for details on floors and outer body. The car comes with Calafornia bumpers that are original, only body modification that was made in the 50s . . .car is chopped, Nosed and decked, smoothed, 49 Oldsmobile tail-lights, 52 Ford headlight ring were Frenched, Peaked quarters, skirted, firewall smoothed, w/53 grille shell and teeth. Later in the 90s tail-lights were changed to 49Buick.
