Ford Mercury Meteor. 2Dr. This car was purchased by myself June 30, 1994 with 49,185 original miles on the speedometer. It is a Meteor Custom Deluxe Tudor. Serial number 0170H50-50393, 0170 represents that is it a Meteor Custom Deluxe Tudor, H indicates that it was assembled at the home office (Windsor, Ontario). 50 Indicates the 1950 Model year and 50393 represents that it was the 50393 unit number built in May 1950. Its original purchase price was approximately $1837.00 Its engine is a eight cylinder flathead 239.4 c.i.d./100hp with a three speed manual transmission. Options include a clock, fender skirts, magic-air heater, metallic paint, radio, sun visor, trim rings and 15 inch tires were standard. Original color was Palisade Green with a Forest Green applied at a later date to the roof. Two years ago, it was repainted a Ford Dark Toredor with a BMW Pepper White roof. Documentation of this work was via pictures taken during process of repainting indicate that the paint was removed, prior to priming, painting and final buffing if clear coat, windshield was replaced, and rubber trim was replaced as required such as windows and trunk floor mat. Since purchase I have replaced the rear bumper, and had the trunk lock and lid were rechromed and Meteor signage on the trunk lid was added. Also replaced the five tires with Dominator, P22r/75/R15 narrow whitewalls. Present mileage on speedometer is 52658 miles which indicates that is has been driven. 3473 Miles the last 20 years. |
