We know the color combination on this incredible 1950 Ford F-1 pickup isnt for everyoneand#44; but if you like the lookand#44; youre going to love the truck. Beautifully built and loaded with upgradesand#44; its one of the very best vintage haulers weve featured and the list of modifications and upgrades would take up twice the space we have here. This is a very impressive truck! The color is called Amethystand#44; and its just gorgeous in person. The flames are expertly applied and the illusion of the white and purple sections overlapping is fascinatingand#44; even up close; clearly an expert was at work here. The bodywork is familiar to Ford fansand#44; but a few subtle tweaks gives it a more up-to-date lookand#44; including the shaved bumpersand#44; painted grilleand#44; and custom rear roll pan. Surface prep must have taken weeks of workand#44; because the bodywork is straightand#44; smoothand#44; and glossyand#44; with no ripples or waves visible anywhereand#44; and with that high-interest paintand#44; people are definitely going to be looking closely at the workmanship. Tidy panel gapsand#44; particularly on the hoodand#44; suggest a lot of money was spent and we like little details like the cool hood ventsand#44; a trailer hitch hidden behind the license plateand#44; and a Ford oval down low on the front grille. The bed is nicely finished with custom widened fender housingsand#44; plus a locking tool box up front which contains a battery tender and access to the battery underneathand#44; as well as a custom car cover thats included with the truck. The beautifully tailored interior is nicely suited to the paintand#44; with handsome purple tweed wrapped around comfortable bucket seats. Custom door panels and even under-dash panels give it a luxurious and highly finished lookand#44; but it doesnt lose the charm of an old pickup. The factory instrument panel has been replaced by a neat billet insert that mirrors the originals shapeand#44; but now houses a full array of cool Dakota Digital instruments for monitoring the trucks vitalsand#44; plus an analog water temperature gauge underneath. The banjo-style wheel is period perfect and sits on a tilt columnand#44; and a powerful A/C system makes this a truck thats ready for a cross-country haul. The controls for both the A/C and the AM/FM/cassette stereo are hiddenand#44; so the dash remains clean and unclutteredand#44; and theres a digital music system for entertaining the onlookers. The Ford bodywork was parked on top of a Chevy S10 pickup frameand#44; so the installation of a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 seems like a natural fit. Its reliable and plenty powerfuland#44; and the engine bay is neatly finished to be a driverand#44; not necessarily a show piece. Neverthelessand#44; its clean and shows a few dress-up piecesand#44; as well as an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetorand#44; long-tube headersand#44; and a big radiator up front to keep things cool. Its backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear endand#44; so service is easy and the S10 chassis brings power steering and power disc brakesand#44; so its easy to handle. Long-tube headers dump into a custom dual exhaust system with stainless mufflers that sound greatand#44; and the stance is just about perfect. Shiny Colorado Custom aluminum wheels offers a traditional look and fat 215/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear BFGoodrich rubber. Professionally built and totally sortedand#44; this F-1 is ready to enjoy. If youre man enough to drive a purple truckand#44; youre going to love the way it handles and all the attention it gets from the ladies. Call today! |
