Originally built in May of 1952, the car has been upgraded to address many shortcomings of the original TD, especially when compared to more modern roadsters. The centerpiece to the upgrades stands under the hood in the form of a 1650cc engine and transmission that have been seamlessly transplanted from a MGA. The engine has been overbuilt to run without issue featuring side draft carburetors and a TR3B radiator for cooling. The engine is never short of power, even in the thin mountain air of Colorado, and the car is quick, even speedy, in modern day traffic. Complementing the engine is the 4 speed gearbox, also from an MGA. This gearbox has syncros on 2nd through 4th gears, making shifts a breeze. The upgraded gearbox drives brand new, true knockoffchrome Dayton wire wheels and165x15radial tires. A5thmatching wheel and tire sit perched on the gas tank. Thestuningwheels cover frontdiscbrakes that have been upgraded from standard drums. Rounding off the upgrades are a modified dash and installed lap belts for safety.
