This 1953 Ford F-100 pickup is one of those vehicles that makes us stop and gaze in wonder at its beauty. A spectacular frame-off buildand#44; it is expertly finished to a very high standard and runs with Chevy power under the hood. The detailing alone would suggest that its a superior example of the hot-rodders artand#44; because it is absolutely amazing in every wayand#44; but the fact that it drives so well is testament to the true spirit of hot rodding. We never use words like perfect or flawlessand#44; but you could spend a lot of time poring over the beautiful red paint and not find any notable blemishes or evidence of use. Yesand#44; its that good. That sheetmetal is expertly finishedand#44; super smoothand#44; and with excellent gaps that can only come from long hours of tedious fitting and adjustingand#44; and while there are a few modifications like shaved emblemsand#44; filled drip railsand#44; and a seamless topand#44; it has that stand-up old school look that makes these trucks so popular. The cab was restored on a rotisserie and looks better than new in every wayand#44; while the bed is completely restoredand#44; including the beautifully finished floor and discreet LED brake lights tucked into the bed rails. There isnt much chrome leftand#44; since the bumpersand#44; door handlesand#44; and emblems were shavedand#44; but the body-colored grilleand#44; running board railsand#44; and custom rear roll pan mean you wont miss any of it. The spectacular tan leather interior has an OEM-level of fit and finish that you just dont expect in a truck. The seats and center armrest are custom built for this truckand#44; meaning that theyre comfortableand#44; supportiveand#44; and its very trick the way they blend into the rear bulkheadand#44; which is also a custom piece. Door panels were specially created to work with the seats and plush tan carpets on the floor mean things stay quiet and comfortable when youre on the road. The original instrument panel was smoothed and painted to match the bodyand#44; with a chrome insert full of Dakota Digital gauges that disappear when you turn off the key. Of courseand#44; a truck like this has all the modern conveniencesand#44; including A/C (with R134a refrigerant inside)and#44; power windowsand#44; an AM/FM/CD stereoand#44; and a tilt steering column with a wheel that looks right for a pickup truck. Custom-fitted floor matsand#44; acres of sound-deadening materialsand#44; and tinted windows are just some of the thoughtful touches that make this truck so easy to live with. Power comes from a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 which was fully rebuilt and upgraded with that incredible Ingelse 8-stack EFI system. Looking for all the world like an old-school set of deucesand#44; it runs beautifully and comes with a FAST fuel injection computer with a handheld controller. Turn the key and it runsand#44; its that simple. The engine bay is ultra-sanitary with plenty of chrome and polished aluminum and careful routing of the lines and hoses to keep them out of sight. The suspension is comprised of a Mustang II front setup with rack-and-pinion steering and a chrome Ford 9-inch out back hanging on a 4-link with coil-overs. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission swaps the gears and a custom exhaust system gives it an awesome performance bark. Everything is highly detailedand#44; shinyand#44; polishedand#44; and painted to look its bestand#44; making this a truck that needs no excuses on the show field or out on the road. Right-sized Billet Specialties wheels fill those fat fenders using staggered 225/50/17 front and giant 275/45/20 rear Falken radials. Look at the detailsand#44; the qualityand#44; and the components that went into this build and then think about how much time and effort it required to make it look this pretty. A show winnerand#44; ready to cruise today. You need to call right now! |
