Details: Hard to find like this anymore! Fully documented from new with only three passionate owners! Showing just 35,500 actual miles from new, this time capsule is likely the only Travelall in existence like it! Truly a remarkable find, which continues to be a splendid driver today! Tons of documentation included! Act quickly! The International Harvester Company of Chicago, Illinois was very well known for offering one of the best light and heavy truck lineups for the working class in the 1950s. From the farm, city environment, highway, to off-highway situations, International Harvester supplied 168 basic models to be fitted exactly as a buyer needed to fulfill whatever needs possible. One of these popular models was the R-110 Traveler, which competed directly with the GMC Suburban, offering three rows of seats for up to eight passengers! With the rear seats individually removable, it also provided nearly 90 inches of floor space that was 5 feet wide! This versatility gave owners excellent freedom, especially with a lift gate rear window and fold down tailgate. As with many work trucks, most found there faint from exhausting use, outdoor storage, and tireless miles on the engines. The example here survives remarkably with just 35,535 original miles, and so beautifully original one really has to see it in person to admire fully! Selling new to Bremerton, Washington resident, Albert Tapp, on August 25th, 1953, it was planned to be used for family hunting outings and camping trips to Yosemite and Yellowstone. Sadly, Mr. Tapp was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease and the truck went into dry storage after he was no longer able to drive it. He had named his Travelall Old Faithful and it stayed with the sentimental family long after his passing. Always detailed and protected, it would come to the attention of Harrahs Automobile Collection researcher, Reed Doph, in January 1978. Once hearing of the trucks availability, he prompted boarded plane for Seattle with only a toothbrush and briefcase carrying cash! He then drove his new acquisition back to Reno, NV covering 800 miles when the odometer only read 31,000 miles. He held onto this wonderful Travellall for 22 years before parting with it in 2000 to its third and final owner, Mr. Mohrschladt. He kept this vehicle very well maintained and dearly loved these past 17 years. It continues to start perfectly and run down the road with utter ease! Truly a remarkable time capsule in every sense. Featuring a 115 wheelbase and ton carrying capacity, these trucks are fitted with double action shock absorbers plus easy-riding long leaf springs providing cushioned-comfort travel. Under the hood lies the Silver Diamond 220.5ci Inline 6 cylinder mated to a 3-speed column shift manual transmission. With only typical expendable items replaced; like tires, belts, hoses, battery, exhaust, newly painted wheels, etc., the balance of the rest of the truck remains all original! It will come with a host of original documentation that includes original purchase and ownership history, service stickers, Mr. Tapps drivers license, maps of Olympic National Park, tool box, umbrellas, operators manual, and original brochure! Also included are some spare items found by the owners as extras that include a factory original radio and speaker, extra hub caps, and headlight trim rings.
