1953 Packard Clipper 2 Door. Only 3200 2 doors were made this year, which makes this pretty rare. It has the 327 ci Thunderbolt inline 8 cylinder engine, and it runs awesome!! At one point in time , the engine has either had a rebuild or has been freshened up pretty good. All of the valves are adjusted and she runs nice and smooth at any RPM. The top has been painted in white and has silver metal flake laid in it. The body has had some metal work done to it, and the blue paint was done by a friend, but is NOT a high quality paint job by any means. If you wet sand it, the paint would probably turn out pretty good, or you can wet sand it and go for the flat color look. The body is not high quality, but is not to bad. There is a small hole in the drive floor board and a little in the trunk, but nothing to horrible. I have all of the trim for the car as well, so you should not have to look for any of that stuff. The interior is original and is not in the best shape, but it is comfortable and functional. There are new tires on it. The exhaust is simply straight pipe with no mufflers at all. It is a little loud but not to bad. Bottom line, this is a nice running car that only needs your own touches to make it the way you want it to look, as well as a few other minor details (headlights are burned out, only one blinker works, could probably use a U-joint, and leaks a little trans fluid) . Drive it anywhere you want. It will drive down the freeway at 80 mph all day.........believe me, Ive done it. Take it to your local car shows, or drive it out of state somewhere. The ride quality on this car, even though it has 4 drop blocks in back and cut coil springs in front, is still very good. Like the Packard adds said back in the day, Ask the man that owns one.......and if you ask me, this car is definitely a great car.
