1954 Chevrolet Bel Air. This is a true street rod that looks original on the outside. It was painted Copper and Cream, frame was painted brown and body undercoated. The brake system was upgraded to a Hydra tech system which is power assist. The peddle is still through the floor. Brakes are front disk, rear aluminum IRAC drums. The front end was replaced with a Mustang II kit with power Rack. Steering was replaced with late model column with tilt and a Lecara wheel. The firewall was smoothed and radiator moved forward and replaced with an aluminum one to make room for a Big Block Chevy engine. An electric fan was installed. New Stainless fuel tank. Dash was modified for Vintage Air. The engine is a 1970 402 Bored out .30 that makes it 408.5. The pistons and rods were balanced within 1/2 gram. Compression is 9.5 to 1. A Comp Cam street roller kit was installed. Part # 11-430-8 CB 280H-10Valve lift .595 Duration at .50 224 lobe lift .3500 lobe sep 110. The heads are oval port and were ported and polished. It has electric windshield wipers with intermittent setting. There is a relay panel under hood for electric fan and air condition. Electric wire was replaced and a painless fuse center installed. The wheels are chrome smoothies with different center caps and spinners mounted on them. the gauges were changed to white ones to see better. I also painted the original speedometer white and had a new glass with black numbers made. This car was built to drive. It has been on the Power Tour and to Cruising the Coast several times. I have owned this car a long time and would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. It is not a trailer queen. It has won at every show Ive entered it in.
