A two year restoration of this rust free car has just been completed. It is a numbers matchingcar (CarNo.HDC46 / 7913 ) ( Engine No. XPEG 1667 ). One of 3400 MG TF1500s.Painted as originalautum red with tan leather seats. Its journey started on 11 November 1954 when it rolled of the assembly line in Abingdon England destined for sale in the USA. The following is abrief list of the work done on the restoration. ( Exterior ) New single stage paint,glass, new tan stayfast top and 1/2 tonneau cover,gas tank cleaned and sealed, new brass door hinges, new chrome bonnet center hinge,new bumpers and overidersand other trim. ( Interior ) Tan leather seats and vinyl interior panels, new carpets, correct feltlined side curtain and tool box compartments, new steering wheel and hub painted correct tancolorto match instrument panel. ( Mechanical ) Engine rebuildt, pistons .030 over, crankshaft reground .010 under rods and main bearings, new lifters, push rods, big end bolts, timing gears, timing chain,etc. (Brakes ) New bonded linings, wheel cylinders, flex linesand an original master cylinder sleeved with stainless and rebuildt. ( Steeringand supension ) New rack and pinion, new front springs,rebuildt shocks, tie rod ends. (Electrical ) New correct wiring harness, new battery, head and tail light assemblies, starting switch, turn light relay and more. ( Modifications ) 4.3 - 1 MGA ring and pinion,converted to negative ground, stainless carb heat shield, back up second fuel pump, spin-on oil filter, floor matts, CB radio, cylinder head valves and seats for lead free fuel, and Moss rearmain seal.
