I am offering this 1955 Porsche Speedster for friends Megan Fox (yes, of Transformers and Ninja Turtles fame) and husband Brian Austin Green (yes, of Beverly Hills, 91210, Terminator and Anger Mangement fame) who have personally owned and (sparingly) driven this Speedster for several years now. They had it changed color to black and at the sme time had an overall refresh done to their needs. But because of a busy career and home situation they have not gotten around driving it more than a few times around town, the reason why it is up for sale. This is a TRUE Pre-A Reutter 1500cc (non-S) Speedster, built August 11, 1955 with matching Porsche Certificate of Origin. The car was originally delivered as white with red interior. Around 1990 it was purchased from Mr. Hester (CA) by Mr. Dunlop (DE) who restored it nicely and the car was spotted in 2005 and described as a nice driver. The car spent most of its life in California where it was purchased by them in 2013. It came with a lot of paperwork which made them derive they are the 4th owner of the car. About 30 years ago a restoration was undertaken where the floors were replaced which still looked strong but they wanted a certain look which made them redo it to their terms. The color was changed to black, the engine (a 546/2 motor stamped 3554X that matches the COA and has correct case numbers 892) was refreshed (no machine work needed) while the transmission (6765 - matching the COA) had been rebuilt before and works great. They added the (German made) Rudge style wheels with matching tires, upgraded steering wheel, green tinted windshield, NOS Hella fog lights and high quality hood straps. At the same time all rubber seals, emblems, decals and most chrome was redone. The carbs were changed to the more modern Zenith NDIX32 but most of the original peropherals have been preserved, the last service was done 10 miles ago. The paint was done after the body had been completely stripped to bare metal, it is a deep, glossy black acrylic without clear coat. The doors and lids close very nice, there are no rattles while driving it and the finish was done to a high grade of detail. All aluminum trim got polished, new hardware installed and it was made sure it became a dependable driver. The tires are like new and are the widest poissible on an original Speedster; Michelin XZX Radials 165 - they perfectly clear the quarter panels. The car has never been in the rain and basically awaits its next owner patiently. The car comes with like new side curtains, a protective nose bra and a tonneu cover. The title is clear, in hand, |
