Details: 1956 Chrysler Newport 2-Door Hardtop This is an awesome car found in a barn find along with some other incredible cars that will be coming soon. It is a rare model equipped with a Poly engine. The Polyspheric or Poly engines were V8 engines produced by Chrysler from 1955 to 1958 as lower-cost alternatives to the Hemi engines. These engines were based on the Hemi engines, using the same blocks and crankshaft parts, but completely different cylinder heads, pushrods, exhaust manifolds and pistons. It is powered by a 354ci ?poly? engine and a flawlessly operating Torq Flite transmission. The car was properly serviced once brought back to the shop and starts, runs and drives flawlessly. The engine bay is in unbelievable condition looking like it had just been detailed a few days ago but is original. She is equipped with the original dual exhaust that is clean as well. The exterior is also in great condition with original paint everywhere but the trunk lid which was done years ago and matches the rest. All of the stainless steel is in excellent shape. The chrome has some pitting from sitting but is in nice condition with no dings or gouges. It is prime for being redone and we even already have some of the new pieces to replace. The car sits on original wheels/hubcaps with wide whites that look great on the car. There is plenty of stopping power with the four power assist brakes. All trim pieces are there and still intact as well as original glass, lights and signals. The interior is in very good condition and equipped with a full gauge package the operates just as it should. All of the dash is there looking good and the original radio is still intact. The seats are nice with the exception of some small stitching on the passenger seat and the headliner/carpet are like new. This is your chance to own a rare piece of Detroit iron in exceptional shape for being a survivor. Fully restored these vehicles go for almost $60,000.00 but this one is being offered at $29,500.00! This car is located and being represented for a collector in the Seattle, Washington area.
