They built a lot of 1957 Chevysand#44; and despite that they continue to be highly-soughtand#44; first-rate collectables. And then there are cars like this particular Bel Air hardtopand#44; which simply borders on art. Immaculate in every sense of the wordand#44; you can see the quality from 50 feet awayand#44; and from behind the wheeland#44; youll know this car was worth every penny. Sureand#44; a Matador Red 57 Bel Air hardtop is a pretty popular carand#44; but not many guys invest the time and money required to bring them up to this level. Its almost like this one was rebuilt from the molecular level to be better than the restand#44; with a show-quality finish that seems to glow from within. Looking down its flanksand#44; you wont see a single ripple or waveand#44; and even the edges of the panels are almost perfectly flat so the light moves effortlessly from one to the next. The red paint is so deep and rich its almost like you could jump in and swim around in it. Nothing was modifiedand#44; just restored to an impossibly high leveland#44; including chrome that shines like quicksilverand#44; beautiful stainless trimand#44; andand#44; of courseand#44; the anodized billboards on the rear quarters. It also carries Fuel Injection badgesand#44; which are not just for showand#44; and sports the nicest polish job weve ever seen. Seriouslyand#44; there are shiny cars and then theres THIS car. Wow. More cubic dollars were poured into the interiorand#44; which offers custom low-back bucket seats and the original benchand#44; all wrapped in luxurious leather and cloth upholstery that looks like it was borrowed from a Lear Jet. A custom center console streaks down the center of the carand#44; mostly for style but also to hold the touch screen for the navigation system. All the usual power goodies are hereand#44; including A/C with neatly integrated vents under the dashand#44; a potent sound systemand#44; and a tilt column with a custom billet wheel that recalls the original. Classic Instruments supplied a trio of white-faced gauges that fit in the original dashand#44; and the wall-to-wall polished trim looks as good today as it did in 1957. The trunk has been fully upholstered to matchand#44; with removable panels to hide the inner workings of the stereo system. A Corvette-spec LT1 lives under the hoodand#44; which is appropriate given the Fuel Injection badges on the front fenders. Its certainly been dressed for show with lots of chrome and bright red paintand#44; but it was also designed to work rightand#44; so the accessories feature a serpentine belt driveand#44; theres a dual master cylinderand#44; and the lines and hoses are all neatly routed for easy service access. Underneathand#44; theres power rack-and-pinion steering and 4-wheel power disc brakesand#44; as well as a 100% stainless Magnaflo exhaust system. A 700R4 4-speed automatic cruisers effortlessly with overdriveand#44; and the rear is an indestructible Ford 9-inch. 17-inch Foose rims recall classic Torque Thrustsand#44; and are the only external indicator that this isnt a fully restored Bel Air. With a build album that shows you how carefully it was builtand#44; this is a show-quality 57 that will blow all the others awayand#44; both on the road and on the show field. Call today! |
