1960 MB 190SL. Very authentic with all original gauges, clock (not working), steering wheel and all associated steering column, knobs on the dash, shifter and knob. The radio works beautifully and is made by Blaupunkt and as you will see is perfect. The seats are the 300SL which was an option and there is even a kinder seat which was another option. All leather is in superb condition although now Blue the original color was red. The carpets still have another 10 years plus of usage and look period correct although it was mainly rubber flooring back in 1960 including the trunk. The trunk has a good carpet, correct jack, spare and even another MB 190SL hubcap. There is a set of 190SL MB tools as per picture. There is a reproduced MB 190SL Ownersandrsquo; Manual in a binder in the trunk as well The original color was DB50G which is white and when I bought it in March 2015 the owners painted it Beige andndash; it does have a few chips and two cracks in the rear almost unnoticeable. The body is straight and solid and had very little rust I was told from the previous owners therefore very little bondo was used. The exterior chrome everywhere is either excellent or extremely good with a little patina and one scratch on the bumper front driverandrsquo;s side almost unnoticeable. The rubber for the windows, doors, exterior mirrors around the lights are all in either excellent shape because I put new rubber to replace the weathered and cracked old ones or what was there is good enough. The radiator was restored and all leakage stopped. All of the radiator hoses have been changed in the past 6 months and never overheats even in the Reno superhot and dry summer months. The cabriolet roof is in excellent condition as is the rear clear plastic window. All Matching Numbers verified by MB Classics Center. Body Number Plate: 121 042 00139 Chassis Number:121 042 10 016184 Engine Number:121 921 10 016312 The engine has upgraded Japanese Mikuni Carbs (best for the 190SL). Some of the engine work, which is under warranty at Hi Tech Automotive in Reno, Nevada that I had done is as follows: Verified the compression cold then hot. Cold: cylinder 1 = 120PSI, 2 + 125 psi, 3+ 125 psi and 4= 120 psi andndash; Hot 1 to 4 = 120psi Replaced the rod bearings because Jimmy at Hi Tech heard a grinding noise and installed precision European machined rod bearings and rod bolt. In 2003 all heater cores and piping were done by previous owners in San Rafael, California (I have several invoices amounting to around $3,000.00). |
