Details: The Chrysler 300G was the last 300 to wear Virgil Exners famous fins. Major differences from the previous yearandrsquo;s model included a new front end with canted quad headlamps and a new rear treatment, which lacked the faux continental spare of the 300F. The 1961 300G was tested by Road andamp; Track magazine and it went from 0 to 60-mph in 8.4-seconds. 1/4-mile was 16.2-seconds at 87-mph. Without a doubt, these were one of the more lavishly appointed cars when it came to the interior; they were luxurious and exceptionally fast, aimed to the well-fixed motoring enthusiasts of the early 1960s.

This 300G originally came from California before finding its way to Missouri and ultimately to Texas, where it entered the esteemed collection of Wayne Davis. Mr. Davis parted with the 300 in 2008 and since then it has been meticulously maintained. After sitting in a garage for many years, the engine and transmission were rebuilt and the car was subjected to a complete body-off restoration. The professionally applied white paint and replated chrome are absolutely beautiful and the chrome is nicely polished. Complete with the correct hoses, clamps, and hardware, the engine compartment was not only properly restored but also remains well detailed, which is generally the case for the undercarriage as well. Among the many standard features and accessories present, this 300G boasts a pushbutton automatic transmission, a console mounted tachometer, power adjustable driverandrsquo;s seat, power windows, power steering, and power brakes as well as air conditioning, factory radio, and an Autronic Eye.The 413ci 375hp Wedge head V8 offers ample performance and the ride control is excellent. Continuing hot on the heels of the 1960 300F, the 300G was even more popular with 1,280 hardtop coupes and 337 convertibles sold versus 964 and 268 in 1960. For many purists, the G edition of the 300 Series represents the last of the great letter series cars. 1961 Chrysler 300G Coupe
