1962 Chevrolet BelAir The 5th generation of BelAir came in 1961 which brought with it a completely new body style that would prove to be quite popular in the years to come. This 62 bubble top has undergone a complete frame off rotisserie restoration transforming it into the very high quality classic you see today. The build was fully documented and the vehicle comes with that documentation. It is an original California car and has resided with its current owner for the past 10 years. The restoration was done 6 years ago and at that time the car only had 60,000 original miles. Since the build it has racked up 456 miles so thats 60,456 for its entire lifetime. The car is painted in a nice Red paint that has a really slick finish. The stainless and chrome pieces are all cleanly mounted in place and have a great finish as well. A Cali 1 piece bumper was added up front. All of the glass is in good condition and all of the original emblems are there. It rides on painted to match wheels with polished hubcaps and accenting that Red paint even more are the 215/74/15 Red line tires which are perfect on a car of this vintage. Powering the car is a 409 435hp V8 motor that has been bored .030 over. The motor was built just as nicely as the rest of the car so it has that factory fresh show ready appearance. It runs well and has been fitted with a roller cam, lifters, rockers and is topped off with dual 4 barrel carbs. Mated to the motor is a 4 speed transmission that moves through the gears smoothly and sends power back to the 3:36 posi rear end. The car has a nice rumble and the entire exhaust was redone to the original specs. Other new components include the power disc brakes, Mallory ignition, S/S lines, an 12volt 100amp alternator. The interior is done in Red which nicely complements the body and the upholstery work is in great shape. It is very evident it has only been driven 456 miles since the restoration as everything still looks fresh. It has a split bench seat up front with a Hurst shifter routed through the floor. The dash has been kept looking original except for the added Autometer underdash gauge pod. The AM/FM/Cassette player was replaced but an aftermarket look a like model was installed so it has the correct appearance. On the column you will find the 409 original tachometer which is working properly. This is an extremely nice car that truly speaks for itself. Once look in person and you will see how well done this classic BelAir is. Add it to your collection for $74,750.00!
