Affordable honesty never looks this good anymore. This 1963 Ford Falcon seems to buck the trend of overblown V8sand#44; and in the processand#44; this coupe is a true representation of the practical driver in the 60s. Just like back thenand#44; you can get a great looking Falcon at an affordable price...but now you also get A/C! Back in the day this was the kind of car that didnt get much of a glanceand#44; but now people will marvel at how well preserved it is. The first step to getting noticed is a very careful restoration that includes paintwork thats a more modern and shiny applicationand#44; but it stays close to this Falcons original turquoise. It adds some brightness to the coupe body thats highlighted by the wide grilleand#44; wider bumpersand#44; long side trimand#44; and factory hub caps. Its just the right amount of brightwork to really make these little cruiser look special. But this coupe never loses the kind of honesty that reminds us of our high school cruiserand#44; or the family car. In factand#44; this one looks so period-correct that if you need a movie car (or want to make a few extra $$$ renting it out) this is the perfect representation of the 60s. Insideand#44; the gold interior with comfortable gold weave insert is a great color for representing the 60s. Best of alland#44; it without resorting to the metallic blue vinyl youd find in other original cars. The front bench seat is something that would have been replaced on a restomodand#44; but that wouldnt be right on this one. Insteadand#44; it is a near perfect time machine going back to the days when the entire family would have rather sat in the front than had the open road obscured from the back seat. Just like any good 1960s carand#44; this sea of gold has coordinating hues across the door panelsand#44; dashand#44; and steering wheel. All of this feels very original right down to the heater controls. But by now youve probably spotted the seriously nice upgrade. Bet you wish you had ice-cold air conditioning on trips to grandmas house back in the day...and now you do! The inline-six motor has the kind of honest appearance that people love at car shows these days. Brightened up with a fresh coat of Ford Blue paint on the block and air cleanerand#44; this one will attract more attention than the chrome V8s in the show field. But this Falcon isnt being completely honest. Thats actually a 200 cubic-inch motorand#44; which is 20% larger than the sixes you got in 63. So this lightweight Falcon has a nice amount of extra spring in its step going down the road. We were very plesently surprised at how peppy it is (even better than some V8s!). Between the well-maintained larger motor and two-speed automatic transmissionand#44; you are going to love taking out your Falcon for a drive (even in the summertime thanks to the A/C!) Exceptionally honest and clean with a little extra pep in its stepand#44; if you like what you seeand#44; you should probably hurry up because we dont see these in this shape often at all. After alland#44; at this affordable priceand#44; it could be headed to a movie studio any day now. Call today!! |
