Details: 1963 Ford Thunderbird If you are in the market for a classic car you can just hop in and drive, this car is a great option. This is a unique car that needs nothing but a tank of gas to get you on down the road. You can confidently drive this car anywhere. This fully restored 1963 Thunderbird or ?Bullet Bird? has a unique look and style that is all its own. Small fins, tail lights reminiscent of jet engines, shiny chrome, and a two-tone exterior and an accent interior make this one classy classic. This car spent a large part of its life in Chicago where it was stored in a climate controlled area, out of the weather. About halfway through 2010, the car made its way to Texas where it underwent a total restoration. In 2011, the car was purchased by its current owner who had the car shipped to California where the car was the toast of the town garnering approving looks and upraised thumbs whenever it was on the road. Now the car and its owner live in Texas. Because the owner will be traveling extensively, it has been decided that the car needs to be passed along for someone else to enjoy. During the resto process, the car?s body was media blasted to ensure a perfect finish for the rust-free body to receive the Sea Spray Green and Navaho White paint which you will recognize from the 1957 Birds. The base coat/clear coat paint was then color sanded and buffed to a great shine that looks great in the sun and when the vehicle is on the road. The stainless steel trim pieces were all straight and in good condition. With a bit of professional polishing, the trim pieces were brought back to show-room quality. The car has a great stance and rides on a set of the original-style wheels encased in Hankook tires with the rear wheels covered by body color-matched fender skirts. The odometer is currently showing 31,933 miles and has no leaks or serious issues. The 390 V8 engine moves the car down the road with ease. During the restoration, the motor was removed and the engine compartment was repainted. While the motor was out, it was completely rebuilt with everything on it nicely finished and coated in the period correct black and gold factory colors. The water pump, alternator, starter, radiator, power steering system, cruise-o-matic transmission, and other engine parts were completely gone through and rebuilt as necessary. The car also has dual exhausts and front disc brakes. The interior has been updated to compliment the exterior. The interior seating, including the matching seatbelts, are a complimentary aqua blue/green. The bucket seats sit in the right place and are separated by the original style center console which is leather covered and color-matched to the front and rear seats. The swing-away steering wheel was restored and leather wrapped to match the vehicle?s interior. And, of course, the swing-away steering wheel works just as it should. The headliner, the color-matched carpet, and the rubber floor mats look like new. Everything in the interior looks original, including the AM/FM radio with iPod/MP3 connector. The car has an operational rotary AC compressor which blows cold and utilizes 134 Freon. The rubber kit helps the doors close solidly and snugly while keeping wind noise to a minimum when the car is at speed on the road. All gauges, knobs, and switches are in place and are operational. The trunk was gone through and a new liner kit added. The truck is home to a jack and an unused spare wheel also equipped with a Hankook tire. The trunk, complete with the spare, looks like new and is just as nice as the rest of the car. This is a fabulous car that gets tons of attention! This Bullet Bird has a very unique body style that is classy and retro at the same time. This is an awesome car worth every bit of $24,500.00!
