This exceptional 1963 Studebaker Avanti is a two owner car. It was purchased from the original owner in 1968. Designed by the famous Industrial Designer, Mr. Raymond Loewy. Its 1 of 4,643 Studebaker Avantis built from 1963 to 1964. The current owner used the car as a daily driver until the early 2000. At that time he made the decision to do a major rework, turning it into possibly the best custom Avanti in the US. Approx 3000 miles since the completed restoration and re-build. It has been featured in numerous magazines and TV Shows, including Spike TV with Tyrese and El Gardeo TV Argentina Motor Channel, and Blacktop Magazine featured it in the June 2014 Issue. It is a consistent First Place or Best of Show Winner in shows ranging from the Annual La Palma Studebaker Show, Huntington Beach Concours dElegance , and is consistently invited to the Rodeo Drive Concours and took a 2nd place in Radical Custom Class at the Grand National Roadster Show. This Avanti has had almost every part either replaced or rebuilt including a complete new wiring harness. Custom features include: A modified 289 R1 engine complete with Polished Sanden AC compressor charged with Freon 134 and a Paxton 10 lb. boost supercharger. The Engine breaths through a new Edelbrock Carburetor and exhausts through modified Corvette side pipes. A custom-made radiator with both an engine fan and a thermostatically controlled electric fan insures more than adequate cooling. The front suspension is rebuilt stock and the rear suspension is V-12 Jaguar widened 8. It stops using 4 wheel disc brakes which are activated by a new chrome dual master cylinder and a custom rebuilt brake booster. It rides on new radial tires fitted on new Dayton stainless steel wire wheels, which are removable via Jaguar winged knock offs, custom engraved with the Avanti Logo. The body has been modified with a hand formed Fiberglass airdam fitted with tunneled driving lights. The asymmetrical hood bulge has been modified into a functional air scoop which facilitates improved engine cooling. The door handles have been shaved and fitted with electric doors controlled by a hand held remote. The custom body is covered with Wild Strawberry paint accented by a 24k gold leaf stripe down the side. The paint on the asymmetrical hood scoop fades from the body color to a dark cherry and hand painted ghost flames are done in flip flop paint. The interior features Recaro seats wrapped in premium three tone leather with the rear seats formed to match the contours of the Recaros. A hand formed custom center console runs all the way to the back seats and has a computor charging port. The dash board has been recently replaced and is in perfect condition. The custom formed door panels are done in the same three tone leather with custom recessed door handles. The headliner is also custom in leather. For safety it has been fitted with three point shoulder harness seatbelts and a Halon Fire Extinguisher. Sounds are provided with
