PLYMOUTH: 1964 andfrac12; Factory lightweight 426 Crossram Race Hemi Savoy #3141246868. Shown in the 2006 Mopar Performance calendar (copy to buyer) and acknowledged by Mopar experts (Galen Govier andamp; others, in Davis book) as a top tier car this rare car is a time capsule. 2 Govier authentications, window sticker, original fender tag and copy for shows. Has 218 original miles, 40 added by current owner in 10 years of shows. It was infrequently raced in the early mid-sixties in the Midwest as the Hemi Harvester and never fully caged, tubbed or cut up. Delivered in the Midwest in mid andlsquo;64 than soon resold upon rules change in andlsquo;65 and stored prior to a first class restoration by top restorer Scott Tiemann upon its sale to a major collector. Most survivors have been raced hard, blown up, damaged, modified, floors andamp; body twisted, tubbed, full roll cages and replacement aluminum parts added than in recent years restored to approximately original appearance. Not this car. Never abused andamp; little used, itandrsquo;s floors and unibody are factory original andamp; straight. Factory original K head engine, correct wiring, optional front American Mags andamp; steel rears with period M andamp; H slicks. A major collector purchased it at 2nd ownerandrsquo;s bankruptcy sale than sent it to Scott Tiemann for a first class rotisserie restoration of the very original andamp; complete car. The missing single cross over rear muffler exhaust, usually discarded given the andrsquo;64 factory race header system which in itself is very rare, unique and in place, was found NOS (very rare) and reinstalled. Anything imperfect was replaced with NOS than available not restored. Even the cool air vacuum flap duct system (to interior not engine) from front fender well works. The original lightweight Corning rear window is there as well as perfect Plexiglas side windows. Body including all the ORIGINAL aluminum is flawless and has all the ORIGINAL lightweight pieces including alloy hinges, brackets, lightweight front bumper, etc.---it is all here. Body andamp; engine have correct factory build markings and paint swatches. It has period correct SW oil andamp; temp gages and period correct NOS Sun Super tach. No holes were drilled for mounting either. Engine andamp; Trans were refreshed with little needed per restorer due to little use and are original, not blown up and replaced. Engine has rare street type cross ram air cleaner as well as racing air bells with fresh air plate in trunk as factory delivered, correct deep grove pulleys, carbs, electronic ignition, all the factory items delivered on car in andrsquo;64. 1990 to date largely spent in two well maintained collections. Itandrsquo;s won its class and/or Best of Show at many major West Coast Mopar shows andamp; high level Concours. At one SCCA Concour it beat out the andrsquo;30 classics to win Best Closed Car as well as First in Class. This car is that good. Featured in magazines and the 2006 Mopar performance calendar itandrsquo;s in #1 condition, needs nothing. For the serious Mopar collector will package with andrsquo;68 BO 29 Black Hemi SS one of top examples available. Own the 1st andamp; the last of the Mopar Super Stock Hemis. Factory condition race SS Hemis donandrsquo;t get any better than these iconic cars both little used from new. These cars are a must see for serious buyers wanting the best investment grade top level Hemi Super Stocks.
