1963-64 Silver Cloud III Rolls Royce. Built in 1963 to US standard left hand drive. If you want a unique, one of a kind, Silver Cloud III you have found it. This car is unbelievably beautiful, but is not a normal restored car. it was delivered to the original purchaser in Pennsylvania and registered as a 1964 car. I acquired the car in 1976 while living in California and it had already been driven 66K miles,The car now has 145K miles, so we have driven it 79K miles in 40 years. The car loves the road and doesnt like sitting in the garage gathering dust. It is a road car, not something simply to look at. I fell in love with the car the minute I saw it, but I didnt like the original color, two tone green with green leather. So, when Rolls Royce came out with a new color group in 1999 I decided to start my restoration project. I never realized it would take 5 years and over $50K. Staring with a complete mechanical(incl. breaking and steering) re-work, wood refinishing, new leather and carpet and most importantly, a brand new paint job. I also had dual a/c and stereo added. As I said, I wanted the car to be truly unique, one of a kind. The colors I selected were Wilberry for the top and Magnolia for the bottom. The only problem was the paint I purchased from England was a LEAD base paint and it could not be used in California. Fortunately, all was not lost because the painter knew a chemist who could re-create the same colors, without lead. The only problem was he would have to use an old 1950-60andrsquo;s painting technique called metal flecking. I remembered having this type of technique used on my andrsquo;57 Chev and my andrsquo;66 GTO, so I couldnandrsquo;t have been happier. Now the paint would really be unique and actually have a different hue depending on how much light was on the car. The carpet is Wilberry and all the leather is Magnolia with Wilberry trim. When complete, it was my vision come true and I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed creating it. I have enjoyed almost a lifetime of pleasure owning this vehicle, but I feel it may be time to give someone else the same opportunity to truly enjoy this very special car.
