The entire story of its build was featured in Gears and Gals Magazine and in the Special Edition Gears and Gals Magazine for the Meltdown Drags. If this car looks somewhat familiar it might be because it was on an episode of Street Outlaws. I had it out in Saline at the KKOA Run What You Brung Drags. Farmtruck and AZN came up to me to see if I would like to race on the show. I had a great time and that dang Dungbeetle whopped me. If you have on demand look for the episode titled Small Tire Shootout. The car is a 1965 Chevy II Nova. The wheelbase has been altered with the rear wheels moved forward 8 and the fronts 4. The engine has been set back 2. It has a 468 c.i. big block with Hilborne stack injection (EFI). It has a turbo 400 tranny and 1957 Ford rear end with a spool and 3.89 gears. The interior is all business; two A100 seats, cage, old school tach, vintage Moon gas pedal, vintage blue metal flake steering wheel, vintage SW gauges, radio delete plate and five point harness. The trunk has a vintage 14 gal Moon tank and big truck battery with a shut off switch on the back panel. Theres a front 3.5 gal Moon tank and fiberglass hood. 10 Towel City pie crust cheater slicks are wrapped around bitchin half and half painted steel wheels while the front biasplys skins are on 15X4.5 Torque Thrust Ds. The motor is not radically built, its 454 bored out .30 to 486 c.i. Its a two bolt main block with 9:1 Comp. The fender well headers are hand made with 2 primary and 3.5 collectors. |
