Were not sure if we should call this a resto-modand#44; pro-streetand#44; or just the ultimate classic 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2. But you dont need a definition to recognize that the ultra slick red paintand#44; 425 hp V8and#44; five-speedand#44; and a whole lot of other quality features that make this custom build the coolest fastback around. A first-year fastback is a rare treatand#44; but it only takes a moment to realize youre looking at something extra special. The bright red paint gives you a clear indication of a serious investment just by how much shine it radiates in the sunlight. The modern clearcoat application is far more advanced than anything that came from the factory in 65and#44; so it sets the tone for this quality custom build perfectly. And of courseand#44; no body imperfections could hide from a luster like thisand#44; so its a telltale sign of an investment in bodywork fundamentals. With a shine like this only the best brightwork will doand#44; and thats why the new bumpers have a mirror-like appearance. There is some serious aggression built into this coupeand#44; but it never looses the classic Mustang appearance. For exampleand#44; the racing wheelsand#44; side scoopsand#44; and side pipes are all reminiscent of the Shelby Mustangs. Plusand#44; the billet grilleand#44; cowl hoodand#44; hood pinsand#44; and custom side windows are great custom additions that draw attentionand#44; too. Insideand#44; the competition attitude becomes even better defined. The modern Procar Rally seats and G-Force racing belts keep you and your passenger firmly planted. You get a three-spoke sports steering wheeland#44; and beyond that is a full set of AutoMeter Phantom gaugesand#44; including a tach. A Hurst shifter is a must in a car like thisand#44; and you might have now caught sight of the extra gear. The door panelsand#44; carpetsand#44; and dash could give the impression of a nice stock Mustang. Theres even an Autosound AM/FM stereoand#44; power windowsand#44; and provisions for air conditioning. But the full roll cage running through the interior is another reminder its a competition-grade coupe. Under the hood is a performance-built V8 that youll be proud to show off. After alland#44; the bracer barsand#44; steel-braded hosesand#44; polished brackets andamp; pulleysand#44; bright valve coversand#44; and air grabber come together to show that solid engineering can be sexyand#44; too. And when you look beyond the flashand#44; theres even more substance with a 392 cubic-inch block that has plenty of go-fast goodiesand#44; including an Edelbrock intakeand#44; Holley four-barrel carburetorand#44; aluminum headsand#44; and headers. Theres a ton more upgrades (call for all the infoand#44;) but just know that there was over $12K invested in the performance engine build alone. The full power package was dynoed to 429 horsepower at the rear wheelsand#44; and the roar of the custom dual exhaust lets the world know youre making some serious power. A monster motor like this needs all the right supporting equipmentand#44; and that includes Ron Morris Performance motor mountsand#44; MSD ignitionand#44; racing fuel celland#44; and an aluminum radiator w/electric fans. The TKO 600 five-speed manual transmissionand#44; MC Motorsports hydraulic clutch conversion kitand#44; and Centerforce clutch is the exact kind of stout package you want to transmit all the power to the Currie 9-inch 3.50 Trac Lok rear end. And when you make this kind of powerand#44; you need to upgrade the suspensionand#44; too. Thats why up front there are new control armsand#44; Varishock adjustable shocksand#44; and a thick sway bar. Add in the grip of modern performance tires and SSBC four-wheel disc brakesand#44; and this is a serious machine for the street or track. With only 3and#44;388 miles on the buildand#44; and a full packet of receiptsand#44; manualsand#44; and photosand#44; you can pass this |
