Details: 1965 Thunderbird. Same owner since 1988. He purchased the car and it needed some work.. floor pans in front had some minor rust, these were patched with simple steel, not T-Bird floor pans. They are solid though. After fixing that and deciding to paint her red (as opposed to the original Wimbledon White), he drove her for a couple of years and in getting several businesses up and running, not having time to enjoy her, the T-Bird ended up in his second garage under a cover. Just recently the car came out of its 25 year hibernation and was fired up, after proper conditioning, as the owner has decided that having this old girl in his garage is just wasting her.. He still doesnt really have time to get out and enjoy her.

This Bird is a 2 door hardtop; 390 4 bbl.; 3 speed auto trans; 3.00-1 axle ratio, with 21,527 miles on the odo... My guess is that should have a 1 in front of it.

The original red interior, overall in rather good nick. Unfortunately, some meece found her a comfy home over the years and there are a couple of small holes in the headliner and one hole in the lower rear seat valance. The chrome is solid but could really use some cleaning up and polishing, as it has some minor pitting.

The 390 starts easily and runs strong. The car drives and stops, however, as with any car that has been sitting for 25 years, brakes, fuel lines, filters, fluids, etc should all be checked and/or changed. The tires look like theyre in good shape, tread is good and they hold air well.. again, though, they should really be replaced before getting out and having any fun in her.

This is my take on this car. From ten feet she looks like a great car, bright, shiny red paint and pretty shiny chrome. Do the few things to get her fully safe to drive and youll get thumbs up at the cruise nights and could even take her to small, local, non-concourse shows. I wouldnt expect any awards, but shes solid and can really be a blast as she is, with the aforementioned minor needs filled. She is also a very strong foundation for a complete restoration and even if one doesnt want to go all out, it can easily be cleaned up, the paint issues taken care of, other quality/fit and finish issues squared up and you could have a very nice show car.

Asking price to see this Bird fly again is $7500. Please contact me to see many more photos, schedule a time to see her or with any questions.
