Lincoln Continental Limousine Convertible. Parade Limousine. Originally built by Lehmann-Peterson and Company (formed in 1963 near Chicago and was the official supplier of Lincoln Executive Limousines for the Ford Motor Company) and supplied new to the US government for presidential use by Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon and, Gerald Ford. When the 39th president Jimmy Carter took office in 1977 he honored his campaign promise of cutting costs and one of the immediate cuts was to reduce the Presidential motor pool. Resulting in this limousine being sold in 1977 to John Case owner of Classic Chauffeur in Portland Oregon. This 1965 Lincoln Continental Limousine was originally black with grey cloth interior. In 1983 it was converted to a parade limousine for the Portland Rose Festival annual parade to carry the grand marshal. The car was painted white and fitted with red vinyl rear seats and white vinyl front seats. The car was built in the same fashion as the X-100 presidential parade limousine (code name given to the car by the Secret Service). Maintained to an exceptionally high standard this limousine is in great condition and very well preserved. It has been stored in a heated garage and any items needed were attended too. It runs strong and smooth. Automatic transmission shifts perfectly. Paint, glass and chrome are show quality. Equipped with, dual red front driving lights, custom rear step plates, trunk lid handles, TV and stereo cassette player and, rear ice coolers. Amazingly stately car that still commands attention anywhere it goes. Use this car as a museum piece or put it into service. This limousine would be a great addition to any collection.
