Details: If you were to ask any of us here at Streetside Classics which car in our showroom is the biggest bang for the buckand#44; more than a few of us would say this 1966 Buick Wildcat. Its one of those special GM cars with unique featuresand#44; and even though its a 4-doorand#44; its just a fantastic piece of luxury muscle with all the right features.

There were few more stylish sedans on the road than the Buick Wildcat in 1966and#44; with Buicks trademark sweeping body lines and chiseled good looks. Thanks to a high-quality repaint in medium blueand#44; it looks spectacular with a sophisticated air to it that only a Buick could wear. Its two-stage urethaneand#44; so the shine is deep and clear and thanks to expert care since it was doneand#44; it shows only a few signs of use. Buick was big on dramaand#44; so theres a deeply recessed grilleand#44; cool gills on the front fendersand#44; and a surprisingly sleek roofline that you wouldnt expect on a sedan. The chrome and stainless trim is originaland#44; and given that this car has never left the warmand#44; dry southand#44; its no surprise that its in great shape. Sureand#44; theres a little patina to itand#44; but theres no part that stands out as too nice or too shabby to be on this car and since its originaland#44; you know its crisp and authentic.

The red cloth interior isnt exactly stockand#44; but its an awesome contrast to the bright blue paint and its all-day comfortable. Thats the original bench seat wearing fresh upholstery and the door panels have been stitched to match. The carpets and headliner were probably replaced at the same timeand#44; but againand#44; nothing jumps out as too new or too old. The wide dash has lots of jewelryand#44; including a wide band of bright metal trim to give the Wildcat a sophisticated airand#44; and the only part that doesnt seem up to snuff is the steering wheeland#44; which wears a leather wrap. And if its road trips you enjoyand#44; then the massive back seat and trunk will be assetsand#44; with the trunk carrying black carpet that looks clean and tidy.

Buicks 401 cubic inch V8 was renowned for massive torque productionand#44; and its just beautifully detailed. A factory air cleaner shows a reproduction decal advertising Wildcat 445 whichand#44; in Buick traditionand#44; is the torque figureand#44; not the horsepower. A 4-barrel carburetor lives underneathand#44; so power delivery is snappyand#44; even for such a big sedan. Correct turquoise paint makes the engine look original and with power steering and power brakesand#44; this car feels luxurious and effortless in everything it does. The transmission is a TH400 3-speed automaticand#44; which by 1966 had superseded the venerable Dynaflowand#44; and it powers a set of 3.00 gears out backand#44; making this a great highway cruiser that just loafs along with the big block barely breaking a sweat. The single exhaust burbles along happily at any speed and original wheels and hubcaps are wrapped in right-sized 15-inch whitewall radials.

This is a beautifully finished car that is bigand#44; powerfuland#44; and easy to get intoand#44; both literally and figuratively. An incredible valueand#44; this big Wildcat will definitely surprise you. Call today!
