Details: From the unsung muscle cars comes this fairly awesome 1966 Dodge Polara. Its got a freshly rebuilt big blockand#44; a cool 60s color combinationand#44; and just the right mods to make it a real joy to drive todayand#44; all at a very appealing price.

Thats original sheetmetal and its very straightand#44; suggesting that this car has led a pretty clean life. Thats not the original colorand#44; but the light yellow looks clean and fresh and unlike the usual 60s huesand#44; it seems to have aged rather well. Its subtle and sophisticatedand#44; perfect for an unusual car like this Polaraand#44; and seems to enhance the nicely tailored sheetmetal. Note the creases along the side and how they flare out on the quartersand#44; making the car look like its always in motionand#44; and you already know how much we love the cantilevered roofline on these Mopars. Despite being a few years oldand#44; the paint is in excellent condition and shows only minor signs of useand#44; even though the car has undoubtedly been a favorite driverand#44; and if you want to really make it sparkleand#44; a professional buff would work wonders. The chrome and stainless trim is also original and quite remarkably preservedand#44; especially the side trim with the red insertand#44; and the black vinyl top looks fantastic with the tinted windows. Yesand#44; we could pick a few nitsand#44; but quite honestlyand#44; there isnt much to fault on this chiseled Dodge.

The contrasting black interior is simply too nice to be originaland#44; showing only light signs of wear and no issues. From the bench seat to the door panelsand#44; its very OEM and even the carpets are in really good shape. I know a bench isnt as exciting as bucketsand#44; but in this carand#44; it seems to work betterand#44; particularly with the cool instrument panel with twin pods full of gauges to monitor the big block up front. A handsome steering wheel with horn ring provides fingertip control of the steering and it includes factory A/C that blows cold thanks to an R134a refrigerant upgrade. The factory Music Master AM radio is in the center of the dashand#44; something thats easy to upgrade if thats what you want but which looks rather appropriate in this retro-cool Polara. As youd expect from those long quarter panelsand#44; the trunk is positively cavernous and includes a full-sized spare and correct reproduction mat.

Nowand#44; with a freshly rebuilt 383 cubic inch V8 under the hoodand#44; this Polara is smooth and effortless in everything it does. Its one of Chryslers most durable engines and performance is extremely entertaining. Looking pretty stock save for the shiny chrome dress-up kit and red plug wiresand#44; its a reliable runner that seems as tight today as it did decades ago. Thanks to the fresh rebuild with only break-in miles on itand#44; its really cleanand#44; but the condition of the inner fenders and firewall speaks volumes about the easy life this car has led. A 727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission doesnt seem to mind munching on all that torqueand#44; and with highway-friendly gears in the 8.75-inch rearand#44; it seems that this car is a bit of a sleeperand#44; too. The floors are impressively solidand#44; the brand new dual exhaust system has a great soundand#44; and those 17-inch Torque Thrusts with 215/55/17 front and 225/50/17 rear performance radials are the perfect rolling stock for this neat Mopar.

Stand out from the crowd without giving up performance. For the right guyand#44; this is a fantastic performance findand#44; and you wont find many cleaner cars at this price. Call today!
