We all know the legend of the 1966 Shelby GT350H. They were true weekend racers that could be rented on a Fridayand#44; take home trophies on Saturdayand#44; and then returned on a Sunday. This fastback has been built as an accurate tribute to those Hertz cars on the outside. But underneath the skin is a performance-built V8 heartand#44; five-speedand#44; and an upgraded suspension. Its such a worthy tribute to competition that Carroll Shelby even signed it. You know from looking around at Mustangs that the 2+2 fastback holds its value the best. After alland#44; it was the style that looked like it had the most gallop in all of the pony car crowdand#44; and it was the only one Carroll Shelby used to debut the GT350. Speaking of the Shelby Mustangand#44; we know youve definitely noticed the upgrade to the snake-bitten hood with hood pins and the scoop. This was all part of a package that happened during a meticulous restoration where the black paint and gold stripe livery of the H Hertz cars was laid down with a very professional hand. The result is a mirror-like surface that rivals the chrome bumpers for shine. You really do have to marvel at the quality of this build/restoration that got much more correct than just the great paint. With details like the side scoopsand#44; badgingand#44; and even the emblems on the front and rearand#44; it is a great tribute vehicle. Add in the iconic American Racing Torq Thrust wheelsand#44; and this Hertz looks like its ready to be rented out for weekend fun. This special feeling continues inside. A pristine black interior is always desirable in a classicand#44; and this one really goes the extra mile. Its been treated to new componentsand#44; so the comfort-weave seats look crisp; the door panels feel confident as you pull them closed; and the black carpet feels soft to the touch. But even as nice as all this isand#44; youre really going to be focused on the glovebox. Carroll Shelbys signature is a part of this carand#44; making it a truly worthy tribute. The woodgrained Shelby steering wheel goes in your left hand; the shifter goes in your right; and you look out at the full round gauge panel - this is real classic motoring. But as you count the gears on the stick shift and look at the Cobra tach on the dashand#44; you get the feeling that there is something special under the hood. A casual glance in the engine bay will show you some Shelby-correct pieces like the bracer bar and Cobra valve coversand#44; but you might want to look deeper for the full performance picture. For startersand#44; the 1966 date code motor has been bored so that instead of a 289 cubic inchesand#44; this has a massive 348 ci displacement. The V8 was rebuilt only 414 miles agoand#44; and we have thousands $$$$ worth of receipts to show you how much really went into this professional and performance build. It even includes some go-fast goodies like a Comps Cams high performance camshaft with full three-angle valve serviceand#44; and the massive set of dual Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors. This added performance is utilized to the fullest thanks to the addition of a five-speed manual transmission. In factand#44; you can truly be a weekend warrior with this coupe thanks to upgrades like the Ron Morris Performance adjustable front suspension and large Baer slotted andamp; vented front disc brake package. Weve got the title documentation to keep with this thoroughbredand#44; but all you have to do is see how clean the undercarriage is to understand the level of work and condition of this coupe. Fastbacks are always in demandand#44; so one as well put together as this will be flying out of or showroom quickly. Call today!!! |
