| Details: | 1966 Ford Ranchero with a 289 and a 4 speed. Its a great little hot rod! The motor was built back in 2011. Mild cams with forged pistons and a 9+:1 compression ratio. It has a four barrel Holley 600 cfm carb with an electric choke. The front end was redone about half a year ago. Had a tower delete done, and a mustang front end put on with independent front suspension and drum brakes in the rear. The odometer is stuck on 12000 I believe, but it only has about 700 on the new engine. Has a 4 speed with a hurst competition shifter and a hurst t-handle knob that fits in the hand great. Its running about 2500 rpms at 75-80 mph in 4th. The paint is in pretty great condition. I wash, polish, and wax it every 2 to 3 weeks. It stays covered, and is taken care of. Theres a few blemishes here and there, but overall its a nice paint job. After Im done waxing it its got a nice, deep shine. The clear coat really looks good. The main bad thing about the car is the front bumper is rusting a little through the chrome. Ive heard that you can take it to the mustang shop and get it re chromed for 200 dollars. I Never got around to it. The interior is in really great shape. Has a wood steering wheel(pretty sure its walnut) that was in pretty bad shape so I sanded it down and refinished it and it looks great. Has a kenwood Bluetooth radio, but the speakers arent hooked up right now. The bed isnt in the best shape. The old liner was peeling up so I figured I would get it off and paint it. I was working on it for a while with stripper and a scraper but never finished it. It has american racing rims on it, and the wheels have less the 700 miles on them. The car sounds amazing, very throaty. People always ask if its got a big block in it and are surprised when I tell them its just a little 289. It is loud! Its the last year that the ranchero has a falcon front end, before it went to being a fairlane. Ive looked around and its hard to find this body style. Its either the small falcons or the big torinos driving around. Its the perfect size. Its quite a drive and a real head turner. Im always getting thumbs up. You really have to see and hear it. It drives great. Its an awesome hot rod. |
