1966 Lincoln Continenta?l Convertibl?e BUCKET SEATS -RIGHT HAND MIRROR -CRUISE CONTROL -AIR CONDITIONING -AM/8 TRACK STEREO -6-WAY ELECTRIC SEATS -VACUUM DOOR LOCKS This is a RUST FREE car, which was painted 4 years ago, then had right front sheet metal damage and was keyed on the left side. There is not rust or bubbling showing through the paint job, and no sign of rust under the car. The original color was white, and the last owner added the dark blue sides for a two tone effect. The car needs new top cloth (white or black would both look good) Overall, the bumpers, chrome and exterior stainless details are in very nice driver condition. Some minor dents and dings. Wheel covers are in very nice driver condition and are correct for the 1966 model year. Work done in the last two months includes... Convertible Top- The entire top system has been gone though by Brewer Classic Lincoln Work included... - Some hydraulic lines were found to be bad and replaced. - Most of the top switches were rebuilt and all were adjusted. - Several relays were replaced. - One hydraulic check valve was replaced - Upper back panel gear drive was rebuilt. - Screw drive cables were serviced and screws adjusted - Hydraulic system was bled and topped off. Windows- - Currently the windows do not work and will have to be gone through. - The window relays have all been checked out and function properly. Mechanical work done includes... -brakes checked and work properly. Cylinders good, brake hoses good, drums, pads and rotors good -oil changed, all other fluids checked good and topped off as necessary. Coolant checked good to 35 below zero -lower ball joint found bad and replaced -strut rod bushings found bad and replaced -upper steering column bearing found bad and replaced. -carburetor adjusted Interior - Seats need to be reupholstered, but could be used as is. Overall pretty comfortable. - Carpet is in good condition - Trunk needs carpet/liner kit Body- -Needs repair to right front crunch Bumpers- - Missing the two license plate chrome brackets in the rear bumper. - Missing the rubber spash shield between the rear bumper and the lower edge of the deck lid This car has been driven around on surface streets (but not on the freeway) and rides nicely. Additional work may be found necessary based upon your needs. The temperature control system (A/C and heating) has not been tested. The radio does not work The vacuum system will need to be gone through. Exhaust system is not terribly loud and could be left as is, or you may want to replace the mufflers to get it really quiet. Lights and brakes work. Turn signals need attention. The deck lid will need to be adjusted backward about 1/8. Since the top was not functional when the paint and body were done, they did not realize that their install of the decklid was off. Overall, this is a very nice looking 66 Lincoln Convertible that has no rust, but needs attention to paint and body. The car runs and drives fine, and will require some additional attention to mechanical and electrical to get it just right. The rarity of bucket seats and right hand mirror make this particularly desirable as a collector car, and truly sets this Lincoln apart from other similar cars without these options. Additionally, the complete restoration of the top system adds thousands of dollars in value.
