When I bought the car it was listed for $20,000 and would have been worth it had he finished the restoration but he took my offer and I drove it home from Atlanta to Kansas City.He had repainted it with the correct color and did an nice job. There is a small scratch in the front right fender that has been retouched but not well. I havent had it redone yet. Both bumpers have been re-chromed.The interior is all original and in very good shape. There is a new top on it but not one with a glass window. It is a nice quality top and installed nicely. A little bit of adjustment on the right side would push it forward better to meet the latches.Mercury engines are essentially Ford engines but do have some differences. This car has the standard mid-size engine for the Park Lanes that year. It is a 410 Marauder V8 which Im told is an FE 390ci V8 with a 428ci crankshaft of the Super Marauder engine. Its slow to warm up but then runs smoothly and well. It has the standard Ford C-6 automatic transmission that I havent noticed anything of concern. It has Power steering with a tilting column -Power brakes with a new master cylinder-Power seats-Power windows -Air conditioning (I have yet to see another Park Lane convertible with factory air. Im told its pretty unusual for a convertible but nobody has ever used the rare word yet.)It came with an AM Radio and I have an am/fm radio for it but its not installed-2-speed interval wipers-cornering lights (that need a new relay)-remote trunk release-emergency flasher lights-spinner wheel covers -two new tires. There are probably other options that arent coming to mind. I hate to sell it but due to medical problems Im not going to be able to finish the restoration. Nearly everything it needs is an inexpensive to fix but it takes some agility that I no longer have.
