You cant help but get excited when someone builds a street-eating machine out of something uncommon like this 1967 AMC Rebel 770 coupe. But more than just unusual with standout paintand#44; it has been built with a performance 385ci V8 and plenty of other goodies so that its as quick as it is memorable. The two-tone flat black and gloss blue have not only been applied with a professional handand#44; but its also truly a thoughtful presentation. Everything on the upper half of this car is blackand#44; with even the trim pieces like the side mirrorand#44; windshield wipers and window surrounds consumed by darkness. This also goes for the bumpers and door handles. So the only hint of shine is on the knock-off spinners on the large American Racing black wheels. This is a fantastic presentation right down to the details like the hint of aggression provided by the red pinstripe that is the boarder for the black and blue (and its a nice match for the red front disc brake calipersand#44; too.) When you open the door you can instantly see this is an interior thats ready to get down to business. You get the factory AMC three-spoke sports steering wheeland#44; and all the right controlsand#44; including the heat/defrost and extra wide speedometer are directly in front. But youve also spotted that Hurst shifter with Turbo Action commanded center surrounding it. Oh yeahand#44; thats a wicked setupand#44; and when combined with the auxiliary gauges just aheadand#44; it really lets you know theres something special under the hood. Dont let the shine of the engine bay fool you; this is a workhorseand#44; not a glamour poser. The 385 cubic-inch Chevy V8 has been built for combat with go-fast goodies like Chevrolet Performance Bowtie aluminum headsand#44; Chevy performance intakeand#44; Holley four-barrel carburetorand#44; CSR electric water pumpand#44; MSD ignitionand#44; Moroso Ultra 40 wiresand#44; and Moroso valve covers. That blue exhaust system look greatand#44; and it adds plenty of performance and thunder because those are Hooker headers that feed the rumbling Flowmaster dual exhaust. Its a total package thats built for being first off the line and staying ahead the whole time. So the performance V8 is mated to a two-speed Powerglide with a healthy stall to start you in the ideal powerband. We know youre thinking about all the places you want to take this cool coupe.
