Buick fansand#44; rejoice! After years of living in the shadows of Chevelles and GTOsand#44; the muscular Buick GS is finally getting some love. This awesome 1967 Buick GS 400 includes a numbers-matching 400 cubic inch V8and#44; lots of optionsand#44; a terrific color combinationand#44; and delivers exactly the kind of luxurious performance youd expect from Buick. Repainted once in its original code C Arctic White about 20 years agoand#44; this GS 400 still has a fantastic look and a stunning air of authenticity about it. Take a look at the sheetmetaland#44; which looks to be 100% original to the carand#44; since this car has always been a cherished toyand#44; never a daily driver. Buicks dramatic sweeping character line that neatly bisects the doors is razor-sharpand#44; and the crispand#44; clear white paint looks great on a car designed to go fast. A pair of subtle hood scoops and faux gills on the front fenders are intended to make the GS stand apartand#44; but not in a loud wayand#44; and it definitely works. Red pinstripes add a racy touch and tie in neatly with the red highlights in the grille without looking over-done. Chrome remains original and outstandingand#44; with bright bumpersand#44; shiny stainlessand#44; and correct badgingand#44; including the cool GS 400 emblems that serve as a very subtle warning that this car isnt your grandfathers Buick. The handsome code 193B Yellow bucket seat interior is exceptionally well presentedand#44; and weve seen far more expensive cars that didnt look this good inside. Its similar to Pontiac Parchmentand#44; which is definitely a good thingand#44; and it works extremely well with the bright white bodywork. Both seats wear handsomely styled upholstery that looks very upscaleand#44; and the foam underneath is firm and comfortable. The black carpets are deep and rich with virtually zero wearand#44; and only the armrests on the door panels give away their age with some very light discoloration. The standard Buick instrument panel is full of gaugesand#44; all of which are fully functionaland#44; and as a Buickand#44; this one also carries factory A/C thats fully functional thanks to an R134a refrigerant upgrade. The original AM radio is still in the dash for styles sakeand#44; but a modern AM/FM/CD head unit is neatly installed underneathand#44; so its ready to cruise. Even more impressive is the trunkand#44; which offers a correct matand#44; original-style spatter paintand#44; and a full-sized spare tire with original cover. Nice! Buicks big claim to fame was torqueand#44; and the matching-numbers 400 cubic inch V8 under the hood certainly delivers. With 340 horsepower thanks to a 4-barrel carburetorand#44; its the perfect luxury/muscle powerplant. Smoothand#44; refinedand#44; yet deadly on the streetand#44; it delivered everything Buick promisedand#44; along with legendary durability. The ultra-clean engine bay is a road map for historians and restorersand#44; with all the factory details intact. Theres bright Dante Red paint on the blockand#44; one of the coolest air cleaners in historyand#44; and unique ribbed valve coversand#44; so it looks the part of a performance motor. Power steering and power brakes were definitely part of the Buick recipeand#44; along with a bulletproof TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear end. A Flowmaster dual exhaust system has been fitted and sounds suitably toughand#44; but not too aggressive (this is a Buickand#44; after all). Floors are impressive and it rolls on original Buick road wheels wearing 215/70/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Documentation even includes the original window stickerand#44; Protect-O-Plateand#44; manualsand#44; and even the dealer invoice. This GS is a fantastic opportunity that will pay big once everyone else realizes how cool Buicks really are. Call today! |
