| Details: | Chevrolet had intended to introduce its third generation Corvette in 1967, however, due to various problems was unable to do so. Rather, they executed a slight redesign of the 1966 model creating by many accounts the single most collectible Corvette of all time. This Elkhart Blue 67 coupe was disassembled and stored in a garage in 1985 with the intentions of a full restoration. Fast forward 25 years to when new life was breathed into the Sting Ray. As it was missing many of its original components, including the engine, it was decided to restomod the Corvette and make the car perform even better than when new. While keeping the Sting Ray close to the original classic design all of the drivetrain was fully modernized. A new Chevrolet LS3 aluminum V8 was installed producing a reliable 430 horsepower on demand and was mated to a Tremec 5-speed transmission. All this power exits a set of custom Street Performance headers and a chambered dual exhaust system. The entire chassis was updated with front and rear coil over QA1 shocks and Hyperco springs and also includes a set of Van Steel tubular a-frames and offset trailing arms. This confidence inspiring suspension rolls on a set of classic Rally wheels mounted to Coker Redline radial tires and is stopped by the power Wilwood disc brake system. Inside the factory appearing cabin you will find a set of custom upholstered bucket seats and beautiful leather upholstery throughout. Keeping things cool is a Vintage Air climate control system. Even the radio, that looks like factory original, is actually a modern version that features USB, MP3 and Bluetooth capabilities. With a little over 300 miles on the completed car this restomod has been fully sorted out and is ready for a new home.
