Details: What do you get when you take the GTO and turn it up to 11? Maybe something like this 67 GTO hardtop. It packs a 535 CI aluminum big blockand#44; a 4-speedand#44; a gorgeous interiorand#44; and the right hardware to make it scary fast YET streetable. If you like the idea of a GTO that takes no prisonersand#44; this incredible red Goat wont disappoint.

The red paint is bright and beautifully appliedand#44; but its really the stance that grabs your attention first. Theres no mistaking the GTO DNA at work hereand#44; from the stacked headlights and mesh grilles to the beautiful Coke-bottle shape. The paint is indeed worthy of scrutinyand#44; a beautiful show-quality finish thats deep and lustrous and is exactly the right color to grab everyones attention as you cruise into the show. There are plenty of trick detailsand#44; ranging from the custom hood scoop that clears the monster engine but still looks enough like the original scoop. Youll also note that the GTO badges are actually painted onand#44; a trick that only becomes visible upon close examination. All the factory chrome and stainless trim remains intactand#44; so it has a very correct lookand#44; but nobodys going to mistake this for a stocker.

The beautiful Parchment bucket seat interior has plenty of race-grade hardwareand#44; but at the same timeand#44; it was obviously built for the street. All the soft parts are new and correct reproductionsand#44; so it looks rightand#44; although the red GTO embroidered on each headrest is a nice touch. Theres also a 4-point roll bar behind the seats which provides the perfect place to anchor the 4-point harnesses. But make no mistakeand#44; this is a street carand#44; so it also has cold A/Cand#44; a powerful AM/FM/satellite/iPod/Bluetooth stereo systemand#44; power windowsand#44; and a tilt steering column. The factory gauges are joined by a set of Auto Meter dials tucked under the dash and theres a trick Hurst Pro shifter between the seats. That red box is the control system for the FAST fuel injection systemand#44; and if you look closelyand#44; youll also see the switch for the Gear Vendors overdrive unit. The trunk is fully customized with more parchment panels as well as a custom BAAD GOAT emblem which adds a custom touch.

The hardware is what truly makes this car specialand#44; and the 535 cubic inch Poncho under the hood is extremely impressive. Built by Kauffman Racing Equipmentand#44; its an all-aluminum block filled with a Bryant steel crankand#44; Lunati rodsand#44; and a set of Ross aluminum pistons. Theres an Edelbrock hi-rise intake up topand#44; which is home to the FAST fuel injection system that makes it feel a lot more streetable than its specifications would indicate. Everything is race qualityand#44; from the braided steel lines to the big electric fans keeping it cool. Of courseand#44; theres plenty of polished aluminum and chrome to dress things up a bitand#44; but were pretty sure everyones jaws will drop just from the hardware itself. The transmission is a built TH400 3-speed automatic linked to the aforementioned overdrive unitand#44; while a Ford 9-inch is filled with a Detroit lockerand#44; 4.11 gearsand#44; and 31-spline Moser axles. A custom front suspension uses A-arms and coil-oversand#44; as well as power rack-and-pinion steeringand#44; while the rear is a 4-link setup. Theres a Wilwood disc brake at all four corners and the exhaust system uses custom dumps just ahead of the rear tires. One-off Boyd Coddington wheels add an industrial look and carry 215/55/17 front and giant 305/45/18 rear drag radials.

This is race car performance packaged as a street carand#44; and thanks to the wonders of fuel injectionand#44; youll be shocked by how well it works. Better stilland#44; its all wrapped in show-quality bodywork that will make everyone stop and stare.
Analysis: Poor Deal, 33.0% above market avg. What's this?
