The right colors; the right enhanced V8 crate motor; and the right price... This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS tribute gets a lot of things right from the first moment you look at itand#44; but as you get closer for the detailsand#44; it gets even better. Take a good look at these picturesand#44; a Camaro this straight and clean shows that it has been carefully maintained for nearly half a century. But what really set it apart are the upgrades that make it a showstopper without losing its original Camaro spirit. This starts with the paint where the Teal Blue was swapped for a factory shade of LeMans Blue. The color lives up to its race-bred name with super slick gloss and shineand#44; plus the white SS stripes help add to this sporty distinction. The blacked-out SS grilleand#44; front chin spoilerand#44; cowl hoodand#44; and D80 rear spoiler are all great looking muscle car upgrades. The original optional Rally wheels were upgraded to a slightly larger 15-inch set from a Z28 to better fill out the wheel well. All of this makes for a Camaro that carries all of the best elements from 68. The interior is both highly original and very interesting. Usually a car like this would have a black interiorand#44; but this one is quite distinctive with the bucket seats that are still in their original blue vinyl. The color matches the door panelsand#44; carpetingand#44; headlinerand#44; and dash. All of this is in remarkable conditionand#44; with plenty of bright accents are all in place. This includes the correct Camaro nameplates on the doors and the lockable glovebox - did you also happen to notice Chip Foose and Robin Zander (lead singer of Cheap Trick) signed the lid?! A welcomed introduction for the 1968 model year was the Astro Ventilation system. It not only helped get more fresh air into the carand#44; but it also eliminated the need for vent windows in the front. So unlike the first year Camaro you now have the true pillarless look with all the windows rolled down. Youll slip behind the original three-spoke steering wheel and look out over the cool dual pod gauge design. While this factory setup is always desirably cooland#44; theres a pair of auxiliary gaugesand#44; which tells you theres something good going on in the engine bay. Under the hood is Chevys trusty 350 cubic-inch V8 looking great with plenty of new and polished components. While that engine was available in 1968and#44; it was never as powerful as this. Youre looking at 330 hp crate motor that has been further enhanced with go-fast goodies such as Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetorand#44; Edelbrock intakeand#44; and long tube performance headers. Youll love the sound it makes when the dual exhaust barks at fire upand#44; and this one does it reliable thanks to less than 1and#44;110 miles on the motor. Its built to make the most out of its power thanks to a Powerglide transmission thats been enhanced with a 2300 RPM stall and shift kit. No matter if youre doing the stoplight grand prix or just weekend cruisingand#44; this Camaro feels great thanks to the upgraded independent front suspension. Add in the powerand#44; steeringand#44; front disc brakesand#44; and the grip of BF Goodrich tiresand#44; and this is a great anytime American classic. This Camaro has been a labor of loveand#44; and theres even $17K in build receipts to prove it. These are all the best elements of a 68 with some serious horsepower backing it all up. A well-built classic like this doesnt last long in out showroom. Call today!!! |
