Up for sale is a good running and driving, numbers matching 1968 Chevy Corvette roadster. Exterior: The paint is an older single stage job but it shined up well with a good buffing. The convertible top is in really good shape and goes up and down easily. The latches for the convertible top work well. The top has a plastic rear window that has some very light scuffs but is not in bad shape. The front bumper looks to be in good shape but the rear bumper could stand to be rechromed. All of the glass is in good shape. The windshield has one tiny stone chip right in the middle of the windshield. The 15 Ralley wheels are in good shape, the trim rings and center caps are nice and the tires have plenty of tread left on them. The headlights work, and the vacuum operated headlight doors open and close well. The windshield wipers work well and the door comes up and goes down smoothly when turning on and off the wipers. Interior: The interior is in good shape overall. The driver side door panel has a crack in it but the passenger door panel is in good shape. The dash pad has one tiny crack on the top right hand side but is in good shape otherwise. The seat covers are in good shape and do not have any large major tears. The wood steering wheel is in good shape. The radio is an older unit that seems to work well. There are speakers in the doors and two 6x9s in the back of the car under the convertible top cover. The power antenna even still works. All of the gauges except for the tachometer and fuel gauge work as they should. The power windows go up and down quickly and smoothly. Drivetrain: The original numbers matching 327 small block is still in the car and runs great. It starts right up, has good power, good oil pressure and doesnt smoke or leak. I have attached a photo of the front pad of the block showing the last 9 digits of the VIN and also a photo of the suffix code of HO that were stamped in the block from the factory. The casting number is 3914678. The transmission is a Turbo 400 automatic that shifts good, doesnt leak or slip. The original independent Corvette rear end is under the car and it feels like it has around a 3.42 gear ratio. The factory Ram Horn cast iron exhaust manifolds are in good shape and run through dual exhaust out the back of the car. The car came from the factory with air conditioning but is currently missing the compressor, lines, etc. Suspension: The car has all of the original independent front and rear suspension under it and it handles well. It has power steering that feels tight and responsive and power 4 wheel disc brakes that stop the car very well.
