Details
This Mustang has just completed a professional nut and bolt restoration. A very expensive restoration.....over $60,000 has been invested in this 45,000 mile car. It has only a few hundred test miles on it. Everything on this car is brand new or rebuilt. The previous owner kept a picture album of the entire restoration process. The only departures from its showroom new condition is the aftermarket steering wheel and the interior color has been changed from black to red and the vinyl top was not re installed.....I dont blame the previous owner for these changes, they look fantastic.

Lets talk rarity. 223,472 Mustang hardtops (code 65A) were produced in 68. Only 2% were GTs and less than 1% were S code 390s. Add to that that Raven black was the 2nd rarest color for these cars. Extrapolating these figures yields less than 5 cars came from the factory in this highly desirable configuration.

This car wears a very high end paint job (by the previous owner who is the body shop manager at a Ford dealership). It is beautiful, one of best Ive ever seen. No chips, runs or swirl marks. The paint was applied over laser smooth, all original sheet metal. Yes....ALL original sheet metal and floors are a rarity in a nearly 50 year old Mustang. The restoration pics show the factory red oxide painted floors. Not a spec of rust in them or the sub frame. The cars sheet metal was stripped down to bare metal and again shows no rust. Since this Mustang was delivered new to a Dayton, OH dealership, one has to conclude this car was never driven in the winter which makes the low mileage believable.

The interior is showroom new..... seat covers, carpet, headliner, dash, seat belts, etc, etc. The vehicle still has its Philco (non working) radio. I have the original factory floor console which can easily be restored and installed to complete the cars originality.

The drive line includes the believed to be original (rebuilt) big block S code engine and Ford C6 automatic transmission and 9 rear. The engine bay is highly detailed. Everything under the hood is brand new.......radiator, master cylinder, 4V Holley carburetor, alternator, starter, battery, wiring harnesses, all the hose and belts, etc. It also has new Mustang GT styled rims upgraded to 15 with new BF Goodrich T/A radials. Additionally, the window moldings, bumpers, grill, GT lights, trim and weather stripping are new. The window glass is in fantastic condition, most of it original.

It starts runs and drives like a new car. There are no squeaks or rattles. The quality and correctness of this car does not disappoint. I liked this car so much I bought it for my own collection but have since decided to offer it to the public. It has never been smoked in since being restored and is kept in a climate controlled garage. For more pics, see Classiccars.com Listing # CC-711695
