1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 Kr convertible #8T03R210165-03544 has undergone a large amount of restoration work. There is 96,000 miles on the car and 800 on the trip odometer after all the restoration work. The numbers matching 428 Cobra Jet motor and numbers matching 4 speed top loader transmission were totally rebuilt. The vin number is stamped on the block/ transmission and the build date correlates with the Marti report. Previous restoration work was done to rebuild the front end several years back and more recently the brake system was rebuilt. And of coarse all of the engine bolt on accessories were rebuilt or replaced. There are no signs of collision what so ever on this Shelby. It retains all of its original sheet metal and fiberglass with the exception of the rear valance, drivers side lower quarter skirt and drivers floor pan repair which it was not the best quality cosmetic wise but is solid. This car has been in California most of its life and that is why it is so rust free and clean. You can also see the interior has been freshened up and has a new convertible top (which the hydraulics work just fine) with the split window. The body was finished off in its original color (Lime Gold Metallic) and is a cut buff and polish job. All of the gaps and tolerances are good on this car. The glass is good and most of all of the chrome has been replaced. I have had this car out on several occasions. It starts right up (a little cold blooded until it warms up) no noises, smoke or leaks. The clutch/ forward and reverse gears engage smoothly, she runs out just fine on the highway. She does need new dynamite sticks for the turn signals, correct mirrors, seat belts and a few other items to make the car correct. It does come with the proper air inlet, S tube and warm up heat shield for the air cleaner assembly. They will be placed in the car before transport. Please call and ask as many questions as you like. There is no warranty or guaranty on this precious piece of American history.
