A new year often inspires thoughts about the future. Planning resolutions and idealizing what should be instead of optimizing what is. But whatever happened to the here and now? You know living in the moment and enjoying what we have as opposed to fighting for constant betterment and forever prolonging joy. So many enthusiasts are enthralled with owning the biggest baddest and awesome-est garage trophy that they completely lose sight of the reason they fell in love with cars in the first place. I mean have you ever met any seasoned gearhead who reminisces about huge residuals or plastic trophies? Thats why inventory like this sweet 68 Mustang is such a soothing breath of fresh air. Sure its a stellar classic that wears a professional restoration. And yes its likely that itll build some value and grab a few trophies. But its also the kind of car you buy because you actually enjoy working on driving in and playing with Detroits finest metal. So if youve been nodding in agreement with everything you just read this slick Ford belongs in your garage!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Subjected to a professional rotisserie restoration that was documented through a series of photos this razor-sharp pony combines one of Fords best powerplants with one of the Mustangs best profiles. The cars build an intense project that was punctuated by hundreds of hours of labor mixed solid sheetmetal with tedious blocking and thorough stripping. Once that steel was well aligned and fully prepped a vivid layer of Rangoon Red 2-stage was complemented with a wide hood stripe accented with traditional C-stripes and raised to an excellent shine. And today this authentic S-code stang is a show-quality resto-mod that enhances both driving and comfort.

Theres no debating the curb appeal of a clean Mustang fastback. And in the 21st century it doesnt get much better than this Fords racy combination of carefully polished pigment and ornate factory bolt-ons. At the front of the car a stainless-trimmed grille hangs a corralled pony emblem between modern headlights correct GT driving lamps a bright bumper and bullet-style parking lights. At the top of that grille a peaked hood founds a satin-finished scoop in front of mirrored stainless satin wipers and like-new glass. At the sides of that glass a simple profile hangs traditional door handles and a correct mirror over stylish GT emblems requisite marker lamps and dent-free rocker guards. And at the back of that profile a stainless-trimmed valance centers intricate M U S T A N G lettering above contoured taillights a red-trimmed fuel filler polished Magnaflow exhaust tips and a second bright bumper.

ENGINE

The whole point of transforming a classic into a resto-mod is upgrading existing componentry. And the builders of this top-notch Mustang did exactly that by replacing the cars already stout V8 with 428 cubic inches of Ford-Edsel bliss! At the top of the polished and rebuilt mill a single-snorkel air cleaner utilizes functional ram air induction to drop oxygen in to a big Edelbrock carburetor. Below that juice box an Edelbrock Performer intake rides between factory Ford heads that are equipped with polished POWER BY FORD valve covers. At the front of those heads a familiar points distributor shoots spark through loomed 7mm Standard Triple Silicon cables which snake around Hooker long-tube headers. In front of those wires factory pulleys spin a rebuilt alternator opposite modern power steering. And at the front of those ancillaries a shrouded fan cools a fresh aluminum radiator. Aesthetically the Ford Blue block rides in a slick
