Introduced in 1961and#44; the E-Type roadster proved to be an immediate success. Designed under the guidance of Sir William Lyonsand#44; the car was a longer and lower version of Jaguars D-Type. Manufactured between 1961 and 1975and#44; its combination of good looksand#44; high performanceand#44; and competitive pricing established the marquee as an icon of 1960s motoring. On its release Enzo Ferrari called it The most beautiful car ever made.

1E34616 was completed on August 22and#44; 1967 in the 1968 model year only Beige over Beige liveryand#44; and dispatched on the 5th of September through its U.S. distributor to it first registered owner BB Car Leasing. This particular model is unofficially known as the Series 1½and#44; a transitional series between 1 and 2 with physical attributes of eachand#44; while internally classified as a Series 1. A recent previous owner purchased the Coupe in Southern California in 1981. As a member of the Jaguar Owners Club of Los Angelesand#44; Mr. Lassus carefully preserved and maintained the E-Type for several decadesand#44; eventually retiring to Arizona with the carand#44; while continuing a local club membership. In the mid-1990s this car was featured in Chapter 4 1968 SERIES 1.5 of Matthew L. Stones book SPORTS CAR COLOR HISTORY JAGUAR E-TYPE published by Motorbooks International. Numerous photos of the Jaguar by David W. Newhardtand#44; were used as reference for S1.5 discussions and comparisons.

Little has changed cosmetically from the 20-year old publicationand#44; as the FHC remains incredibly original including the cabin and its upholsteryand#44; engine bay components and much of the paintworkand#44; as well as trim and auxiliaries. The exterior received a repaint many years agoand#44; while the body displays very straight panelsand#44; factory spot welds along the rockers and originaland#44; unpatched floor pans. The Jaguar has been enjoyed carefullyand#44; regular serviced and today makes for the ideal driver and continued preservation candidate. All factory identification tags remain riveted to its body and comes complete with jack in pouchand#44; lead hammer and Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificateand#44; verifying delivery information.

The revered Series 1 coupes are said to be one of the purest driving 1960s sports cars with its combination of great looksand#44; rigidity and lively power. To acquire a S1 FHC in such condition and unique colors further adds to the appeal – a great find for any Jaguar enthusiast.
