Corvettes are always in demand. Pull up in this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and youll have guaranteed front row parking from the valetand#44; and nobody will want to tangle with you at stop lights. Such is the Corvettes reputation. Better yetand#44; this car still carries its matching-numbers 350/300 and a 4-speed manual gearboxand#44; making it a smart investmentand#44; too. If thats your kind of extroverted funand#44; this is your car. The paint was done fairly recentlyand#44; and theres no mistaking the brilliant shape of the all-new Stingrayand#44; which was unlike anything else on the road. That lovely code 988 Burgundy paint makes this look like an adults carand#44; sophisticated and elegantand#44; and youll probably find that people just love the look. Its quite nicely doneand#44; with a brilliant wave-free shine and excellent fiberglass work underneathand#44; which is critical with this color. Speaking of fiberglassand#44; the finish on the car is goodand#44; with no signs of previous damage and work done by guys who were familiar with the material. Gaps are decentand#44; about what youd get if this were 1969and#44; and it looks awesome going down the road. Chrome bumpers are a big plus for most enthusiastsand#44; giving the all-American sports car some European flairand#44; and aside from a few signs of ageand#44; the brightwork remains in excellent condition. There are no modificationsand#44; no cowl-induction hoodand#44; not even any pinstripes to detract from the clean look and elegant paint. For the moneyand#44; this Corvette really nails it! There are few upgrades insideand#44; mostly because the Corvette really doesnt need any help. The seats carry reproduction seat coversand#44; there are replacement carpets on the floorand#44; and theres a new steering wheel in the original style. The door panels might be originaland#44; giving it a very OEM look and they show some minor wear that shouldnt make you worry. Gauges have brightand#44; clear markings and the tach has a correct 5500 RPM redline for the 350 living under the hood. A later AM/FM/cassette radio is in the dashand#44; but its just begging for an upgradeand#44; because youre going to want to spend a lot of time in this carand#44; T-tops offand#44; enjoying the road. The 4-speed shifter has the proper knob and lockout and the little plaque on the console gives you a few details about the engines specificationsand#44; a neat touch from GM. It appears that the carpets in the storage area behind the seat are originaland#44; but in such an out of the way placeand#44; theres really no need for replacement. Although the big blocks get all the attentionand#44; small block Corvettes are some of the best-driving performance cars you can buyand#44; and theyre a screaming bargain to boot! This car carries its originaland#44; numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8. It makes awesome V8 sounds that are threatening enough to keep the kids in their Hondas at bayand#44; and the dressed-up engine has a pretty correct look. Chevy Orange paint certainly helpsand#44; and a reproduction decal on the open-element air cleaner is a Chevy performance tradition dating back many years. Power steering and brakes make it easy to handleand#44; and the exhaust system has a great sound thats neither too loud nor too gentle for a Corvette. The aforementioned 4-speed snaps through the gears with enthusiasm and it sits on beautiful Rally wheels with fresh 225/70/15 Firestone rubber. There are two kinds of people on the planet: Corvette owners and everyone else. Its your turn to join the club. Call today! |
