Black Camaros will always be in demandand#44; and this 1970 Camaro definitely has the right upgraded look with matte stripes. And its more than just skin deepand#44; tooand#44; with a great-running 350 under the hoodand#44; a classic black bucket seat interiorand#44; iconic split bumpersand#44; and a ton of potential to be the Camaro youve always dreamed of owning. Its safe to say that we like the way this Camaro looks. A lot! Its got the right stanceand#44; the right colorand#44; and the overall look of the second-generation cars is aggressive yet refined. Were also glad to see this one has been upgraded to a set of RS style split bumpersand#44; becauseand#44; well...theres nothing like a split bumper second gen. Finish quality on the vivid gloss black paint is goodand#44; with a great sheen thats especially noticeable on the contrasting matte Z/28 stripes. Its a very straight carand#44; as it would need to be being blackand#44; so the reflections in its surface arent distorted and panel alignment is very good. Out backand#44; a lower Z/28-style deck lid spoiler has the right look and is also wrapped in stripesand#44; giving it a very cohesive lookand#44; and its great to see a standard flat hood instead of a cowl-induction setup that wouldnt be correct anyway. Nice chrome bumpers and neatly detailed taillights make the car shine in the sun and it wears Z/28 badges in all the right places. This is certainly a Camaro with the right dark look. The black interior is finished to stock specsand#44; including the bucket seatsand#44; which wear recent seat covers. Fresh carpetsand#44; reproduction door panelsand#44; and a very clean dash pad all contribute to the recently finished lookand#44; and with a minimum of aftermarket equipmentand#44; it looks very much like it would have in 1970. The factory gauges are in good original condition and theyre joined by a set of Auto Gauge dials for oil pressure and coolant temperature under the dash. A center console is also a nice findand#44; youll note that this car carries a great-shifting 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter and cue ball knob. The factory AM radio is still in the dashand#44; leaving you the option of going all stock or adding something greatand#44; but the rest of the interior is 100% business. Open the deck lid and youll find clean trunk with a correct mat. The smart-running 350 cubic inch V8 looks fresh in its bright Chevy Orange paintand#44; and it was clearly built for combat. Set up with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and matching intake manifoldand#44; a Lunati camand#44; Edelbrock aluminum cylinder headsand#44; and an HEI distributorand#44; it cackles and snarls but remains eminently drivable on the street. Theres a big aluminum radiator up frontand#44; long-tube headersand#44; and a beautiful dress-up kit that includes a set of finned valve covers and a lot of chrome. The aforementioned 4-speed gearbox shifts crisply and powers a sturdy 12-bolt rear end in the surprisingly well-detailed chassis. Flowmaster mufflers sound awesome and the stance is exactly rightand#44; aggressive but not so low that it scrapes and bangs over every little bump. Theres also a new gas tank out back and a set of gorgeous SS wheels wearing 215/65/15 white letter radials. Super cleanand#44; very potentand#44; and totally sortedand#44; and a modern looking dark side exteriorand#44; this is the kind of Camaro you would have built for yourself. The fact that its also so nicely priced is only icing on the cake. Call today! |
