Chevelle SS. This Chevelle SS 396 is a true fully documented Super Sport restored to original factory specs. Documentation consists of original window sticker, original Protect-O-Plate, and trashed factory build sheet that is legible enough to verify this car as a real factory SS 396. Car spent its life in Caldwell Idaho until I purchased it in 2003 from the owner who performed its restoration. A California car since 2003. Always garaged and NEVER driven in the rain, mud or on dirt roads or driveways. Car was frame off restored during early 1990s but only has about 4,000 miles put on since restoration. Have a several photos of the restoration. The engine was rebuilt and bored 30/1000 over. Block was milled but the original numbers were left on the block. The 4 speed. Original Muncie trans was rebuilt with new bearings, synchros and seals. Gears were in perfect shape and not replaced. The trans shifts perfectly as you saw. Rear end was rebuilt. Has 3.31 factory spec gears. Power steering restored including rebuild of the steering box. This car is loaded! Color combination of Autumn Gold with white top and stripes is rarer than the more common Gold and Black color combination. This car POPS in the light.
