Indeed one of the most original examples of a Pagoda that still to this day preserves all its original body panels. It has an extraordinary trunk floor that has never been touched up or repainted. A Mercedes Dealership in Tennessee decided in 1970 to keep this awesome color combination pagoda as part of their collection up until the owner past away a couple of years ago!

Truly a nice straight car with no rust issues and also a great color combination of blue (903) on parchment. The odometer shows 85and#44;000 miles but the condition of the car is amazing and in the condition of what you would expect from a well-kept 30and#44;000 mile California car. A compression test was done and we have an average reading of 175 lbs per cyl. The car starts perfectly when cold and shifts as good as new (they never did shift very smoothlyand#44; but rather on the hard side – which is exactly how they were designed to shift). The brake system performs just like newand#44; and the car is sporting new Uniroyal tires for safety (although someone could obviously install the tires of their choice).

The car was partially repainted over the years and what we can see is that the hood was repainted at some point in its life as well as the trunk lid. Both parts being aluminum and easy to dent and most likely the reason for the respray. We removed the front bumper for cleaning and were extremely pleased to find it in excellent conditionand#44; as it has never been re-chromed (and still has the June of 1970 factory wet-stamping from the factory). None of the chrome appears to have ever been re-plated as it all looks 100% original. The interior is entirely original and is in excellent condition.

The soft top canvas was replaced some years agoand#44; while the hard top is still quite original. It has the factory ski racks and its condition is superband#44; with its original headliner and wood trim in excellent condition. Some rubber seals around the hard top are old and bridle but what you would expect from a 46 year old car.

The air conditioner that was added in later years cools quite well (much better than the old York compressor that is today obsolete)and#44; while the heater levers are operating nice and free. The radio and its Hirschman antenna are the original ones from 1970 as is the windshield. We also have its original tool kit and books for it (unfortunatelyand#44; no service records).

We only wish we could find cars like this more oftenand#44; but they are becoming much tougher to come by!
